Ok, so back to hockey. I was nearly laughed out of the forums last week for pointing out Ottawa could jump over Boston even with the B's having 2 games in hand but after looking at their schedules down the stretch and the quality of play coming from both squads I'm calling it now - Ottawa leapfrogs the Bruins to take the division. Ben Bishop and all...
I think Mr. Thomas has not only some severe cracks in the armor, but the team as well now (Rolston was in the top 6 for crying out loud just a few games ago).
Ottawa is fueled by rookie power with Bishop and Karlsson and the young Foligno but captained by Alfredsson and I think they rally down the stretch with the easier schedule. Boston's final week is pure hell. I can see them slipping.
And I can also see the Pens knocking on the Ranger's door for the Atlantic and all the while someone quietly tip toeing up behind the both of them if their Powerplay continues to work magic.
This is gonna be a hell of a fun finish to the season.

::buckles up::
turris has looked pretty damn good for them too. oops phoenix.
As bobby mac, tweeted There is a a realistic chance wisconsin blueliner Justin schultz becomes a ufa. Lou landing this guy would be nothing short of incredible. He's absolutely amazing.

Never watched him play but his stat line as a D is amazing. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes the UFA route as Anaheim probably won't make the playoffs.
Lou should be all over this July 1st(after Parise of course).

He's ready now. No ahl time needed imo. This would be nothing short of huge if Lou could sign this guy

If Schultz went that route, I'd imagine he'd want some nice bonus incentives as part of his ELC (Wheeler's initial ELC cap hit with Boston was something like 2.2 mil). Since Lou wouldn't do that for Larsson, I would assume that'd put us out of the running.
I actually hope he'll just sign with the Ducks. Puts teams in a tough spot when they're patient with a prospect only to see him work the system to potentially make more money *cough*VanRyn*cough*
Is he about to become a UFA because the Ducks haven't signed him, and his college career is about to end? If he turns down their contract offers, then like Brodeur says, it means he's likely to go for big money. Not sure Lou would be willing to do that, although I'd love to get him.
I'm also not sure if we have the roster space to put him on the big club immediately.

Bob McKenzie posted the following options on Twitter:
1) Go back for his senior year (seemingly unlikely).
2) Sign a two year deal (I'm not 100% sure, but if he's 22 in the eyes of the CBA as a 1990 birthday, he has to sign for two years. No more, no less). He could burn off the first year of the deal by playing in a handful of NHL games to end this season.
3) Leave school at the end of the semester and become a UFA on July 1st.
In terms of making more money, I think signing with the Ducks and burning that first year would be optimal. He'd be a year closer to UFA / guaranteed money.

Sorry but you just fit in someone this good. Definitely something he's going to take his time on, but it's possible he doesn't want to be with the ducks...And he holds the power.
He's a strong skater and extremely good offensively.

And Lou always finds good players out of college
Never of His Caliber . Look how many players Lou has drafted from Colleges.
