Heard through the grapevine from someone who knows someone who knows parise that he wants to come play in Dallas. Take it with a grain of salt obviously, but I still can't help but to get my hopes up a bit.
im not going to let you get my hopes up, why would he come here
My initial thought as well, but the guy I was talking to was reasonably credible with who he might know, as he used to work in the echl and has pretty good pro connections
He wants to come play for the original North Stars franchise and play for the team that Mike Modano (best American hockey player) built? Would Suter and Parise both be enticed by Modano to play here?

trade for carter and then moneywhip suter and parise brilliant
Assuming source is true and parise signs in the offseason, and the trade for carter comes to fruition, I made up two possible lineups. One with depth throughout, the other with just a stacked top 6.

Well I was operating under the assumption we give chiasson a year at Texas and just let Ryder walk at the end of his contract next season, which is where chiasson would step in. Didn't feel like trying to guess who would come in if morrow was traded so I left him in. And I can't see them trading ribs, as he's pretty much our only true playmaker.
Would those pie-in-the-sky lineups even fit under the cap? I know it's been a while since we've had to think about it...
Given were at the floor right now and assuming we pretty much give away some egregious contracts like robidas, ott, and hopefully morrow and factoring in that well be dealing with a decent amount of elc's (Larsen, vincour, and hopefully dillon and another ahl callup). I would assume there would be space for two more high paid players.
I forgot about Ryder. And I assume he means the one where they're third liners.
------ Now ---------------- Later
Parise-Benn-Ryder -> Parise-Benn-Chiasson
Eriksson-Carter-Vincour -> Eriksson-Carter-R Smith?
Nystrom-Fiddler-Ott -> Ott-Fiddler-Vincour
Gazdic-Wandell-Burish -> Don't care it's a fourth line.

Now being next year, later being the year after.
Yep with those forward lines
The third liner's one would work but it would be verry verry tight we would probably have a shoddy defense to make it work
You really think Chiasson is a first line NHL player next season? No way.
I don't think it's a matter of him holding his own on the first line. He might have growing pains like Vincour this year, but I playing with Parise and Benn... those two can probably make anyone with a shred of talent a first liner.. and as I said in the trade board, I am very high on Chiasson and I think there are teams out there who are also interested in him as a prospect.
As for R Smith, that could be really any of our prospects or a free agent signing. There is a reason it's a ? there.
I'm at school right now, ill capgeek some different scenarios when I get home.
