Madrid are one of the very very top clubs in the world. Regardless of where you are if they come calling your ears are going to perk up. It is what it is and if I were him I'd want to move on to bigger and better things also.

IMO Liverpool should get the most they can for him and move on while giving themselves plenty of time to bring in a couple replacements. If this drags on all summer it isn't going to be good for anyone.
What's he supposed to do? I dunno, stop talking to the press and turn in a transfer request if he wants out. I'm a huge fan of this player, but come on....

Talking to the press is the usual precursor to putting in the transfer request regardless of who the player is...

I'm sure he will when he gets away from the Confed Cup. How crazy would the press be against him if he was "worrying about his club team" when he was in a big tournament for his country?

Spain's national team and club teams were humbled this year...let's see how they respond.

I dunno, I don't hold ill will towards the guy. He's a hell of a talent. I think he would flourish under Mourinho. He'll be carrying a large chip on his shoulder if he leaves United.

He is ridiculously overrated, though I think in the past you mentioned you only started following football in around 2010? Which could be why you have no ill will towards him. Incidents such as him stamping on Ricardo Carvalho's manhood during the 2006 world cup are among factors to why we Chelsea fans hate Rooney.

Started following the EPL then yes. Yeah, I get it. I can see why you would harbor ill feelings about the guy. I'm purely looking at it from a skill perspective. I think he would be highly motivated and do well though with Chelsea.

Firstly, Bale is not worth £85m, secondly, given that Bale is on the cover of FIFA 14 in the UK, it would be hilarious if he went to Real. (I really hope it does happen, because Tottenham are ****ed without him)

United need to sort their **** out and send Chelsea the tickets for the away end at OT.

Also, as I feel like sharing some stuff, a couple of pics from Chelsea matches last year.

So, looks like United will refuse to sell Rooney this time around, no matter how bad things are.

What does everything think of Eto'o? Does he still have the goods? 5 mil seems cheap, but he is older.

It is hard to keep up with the Russian league players except for the occasional Champions League / Europa Cup game so I have no idea how Eto has been looking since he took the money and ran to Anzhi. He potted 16 goals in 28 games for them last season so he is clearly still a pretty decent player.

I don't see why they need him frankly though. They are only going to play with one out and out striker and none of Torres, Ba, Lukaku, or Eto play anywhere else. Plus IMO Lukaku definitely needs games to continue his development after a very nice season last year on loan at West Brom.

Rooney is much more versatile so I understand wanting to bring him in. Eto not so much...

Lukaku looks like he's the real deal. Watched him a lot last year once he finally got to be the main main and he did great. He's been excellent in preseason too.

I simply don't think they're comfortable with Torres/Ba providing consistent scoring. Rumors have been circulating about both departing Chelsea, so maybe Ba moves out if Eto'o arrives.
