Hopefully he's gone. Has talent but is a passenger for wayyyyyyy too many. Bring back some assets and forget about the Belarussian Brothers and their mob ties.
Do you have any evidence of this because I believe the police and the NHL came back without evidence to support that claim.
He's a goner. Would've been kind of nice to have a coach that doesn't put leashes on offensive players to see what he can do. Hell, Carbs got more out of him than JM and RC.
Kostitsyn has evolved over the past 36 months. His effort has improved greatly and it shows on the ice. Fans still think his potential is a 40 goal guy (based on his skills - yes) BUT we have to learn to think of him as a solid 2nd-3rd line winger who can score in streaks and play surprisingly gritty for a conventional Russian skilled winger (see players not named Ovechkin).
Okay, let's come down to the essential question on Andrei Kostitsyn. Will he stay or is he done here?
I voted to trade him. Habs can use the extra first round pick. Bourque is similar player who is signed. Leblanc should be given AK's spot in near future.

We are lucky if we get a second round draft pick for him.... cant blame you for optimism
I believe he'll be traded, but I'd like to see him stick around. There is nobody in the organization to replace him and I think it's pretty likely a UFA would be more frustrating and more expensive.
When Kostitsyn is on a good line with a decent amount of ice time I think he's pretty good. He's not super consistent game-to-game, but few of our players are outside of Price, Gorges, Cole, and Plekanec.
Not if he gets 4 minutes a game. Then again, Crosby wouldn't score 20 goals with 4 minutes per game and no PP time.
In any case, I don't expect to see him with the team next year and a lot of people will be happy about that. I think I would even be happy about it. At least we could begin talking about something more constructive.
Yeah those great seasons in Calgary and Jersey helped us a lot.
No of course...
But drafting Carter or Getzlaf back in 2003 (a much needed big skilled center) probably had prevented Gainey to shop for a center like Gomez 5 years later. And we would still have McDonagh on our D.
Actually, it's a shame he was stuck in the Montreal defensive system. That whole prospect defensive ******** turned all our skilled forward to whatever. It's easy to understand why these same players, when traded, becomes first lines potential.
He has the skill to be a 60-70 points player per year... but will never get that far until he his traded.
But I think he will be trade. Leblanc will take his place on the 3rd line next year. Habs will probably trade for a guy who will play with Plek and Bourque and of course AK will play top 6 minutes on another team and he will produce .

Like *****ing about how Andrei Kostitsyn is on pace to score 20-25 with another team for a decent enough cap hit?
