I feel like other people would be in favor of this but it is so damn hard with the annoyingness of Coldsteel. It is the same thing with Kruger and Bubba. Bubba nut hugs Kruger to no end until people actually start to despise him. Kruger was loved around here before he got to the NHL and Bubba started putting him on a pedestal for no reason.

Then Coldsteel starts tearing Emery a new one and everyone starts rooting for him. His blind hatred just got so tiring and annoying that Emery became popular here. It seemed like every post in the preseason from Coldsteel was about how Emery suck, how we are screwed with Emery, ect. It is some weird, weird obsession that he has and everyone wanted Coldsteel to be wrong because of how foolish he looked.

Meh, just my opinion. I do think that Salak deserves a look though. He played decent in preseason and has done well in other leagues. He is also very hot right now in the AHL and could steal us a couple games.. you never know. Give him a shot IMO.
This is exactly why i root so hard for emery

Oh, of course.

It's just a nice coincidence that cheering for Emery is both cheering for the Hawks to win, and cheering against some guy on a message board.

Two birds with one stone.

True, but you guys have set such a low standard for Hawks goaltending. And what's with the bash fest on Crawford? He's gotten it way worse than Emery. Emery is good, Crawford is bad, here. Yet they are equal (Crawford actually has slightly (and I'm talking hair thin, better year). What does Crawford have to do with this?

I would rather have emery lose every game and have the hawks win...

But if emery plays pretty good and the hawks win its even better. The crawford bashing is lesser then the emery bashing i feel like. Should be the opposite

No way. Emery is beloved, Crawford is pissed on pooped on at every corner. It's some kind of weird obsession, the Crawford bashing.

going by numbers alone is the best way to say if a player is good or not - this goes to both sides of this ****

It wouldn't be as bad if it were in the NHL against NHL players.

Sorry coldsteel, another rough outing for Salak. Hogs just got bowled over with 3 goals in under 40 seconds, now trailing 4-2 to Hamilton. Looks like, unfortunately, Salak's numbers will go down again. It's like I said:

EDIT: Rockford lost, empty-netter added, drop the game 5-2 to Hamilton.

Sorry to bump this, but figured it was better than a new thread.

I just read this on the goalie guild website.

"Lost 3 straight in 4 days, threw tirade at teammates on 2/18 (Feb), hasn't played since"

Did anyone hear about this that can ellaborate on it?
Doesn't sound good, and deep down I think he goes back to Sweden next year.

Time to release him?

Honestly, Give him 2 years in Rockford unless he proves himself in one year.

why release him?

Guy had health problems all year long until now. He's not really young, but still has enough time to make the NHL. We won't lose anything with keeping him.

He needs to be called up to start for the Hawks. That's all that matters concerning Salak right now. Give him 3-4 games. If we lose, oh well, we tried to improve the goaltending position at least and can get a better read on his chances of sticking with the team. I don't get why he is still in Rockford as of 8:30 this morning. Our goalies are pathetic.

It also might help to wake up Crawford knowing that now there is even more competition and the coaching staff is losing confidence in him. He needs to know that his job is on the line.

He's had no competition all year. It's a part of the problem with him. Maybe Salak comes up, plays well and really challenges him. Maybe he comes up and goes 0-4. Either way, he needs to come up and do well or fail, who cares what he does, it's trying something else for a change.

I think you mean Emery has had no competition.

Emery >>>>>> Crawford.

Then we may lose out on the playoffs and millions of dollars for the orginazation just to give a guy who cant start on a bad team in the AHL some NHL time....NO

So what. The point is to win the Cup. As long as the chances may be, you have to see if Salak can carry this team because the guys we have cannot and have had way too many chances to prove they can. And this team always gets behind new goalies. We all know that.

Salak cant even carry his AHL team in the regular season...You have to make the playoffs to win the cup so risking the post season because you dont want to see emery in net just really doesnt make sense for the Blackhawks
