i really don't understand how this franchise has managed to suck in the same ways for the past four season or so with so many changes.

this hurts, what else could they have done , the Isles played a great game, lots of shots with no finish, for dominating the first we should have been up 3-0 after 1

What's even more depressing is that this is a the fully healthy Jets we're looking at. I mean what excuses can we make.

I'd kill for one guy who can make a tape-to-tape pass and one guy with a quick release shot.

Pretty bad when Thorburn is your only goal scorer

Your bang on the need for a player with a quick release although Kane and Ladd do have that ability, too many players wait WAY too long to shoot in the slot allowing the goalie to set up, Wheeler in particular, he would be a 30-40 goal scorer if he had a quick release.

The power play is completely anemic, it's the same garbage every single time.

Buff and Enstrom at the point with neither willing to take a shot as the forwards sit to the left and right of the net waiting for a pass that will ultimately take too long to receive thus ending any possibility for a one timer and eventually sending it back to the point to try the exact. same. useless. thing.

How hard is it to park Byfuglien's fat ass in front of the opposing goalie and fire shots from the point.

No creativity on the PP, not seeing a lot from our so-called PP QB Enstrom in slowing things down on the PP and directing it. At least Anti wasn't used on it.

I understand Chevy wants to build long term...but this is just painful. We inherited a team so doing some heavy shuffling should come, not these minor league players who in most cases will never see a game here. Never.

Frustration to the max.

If Wheeler had that quality he would be a monster. It just seems like everyone, including him, just hesitates for that .3 seconds it takes for the opportunity to have passed by.

I think the shot count is misleading. I don't think Nabokov had to work particularly hard. Lots of long shots from the outside, etc.

The effort was there. The skill and finish isn't. The Jets didn't coast through the 2nd and 3rd period.

I agree with others saying some moves need to be made. This team just doesn't have the talent to compete for a playoff spot. And no more AHL shuffles.

Noel has to put Buff at forward on the PP, don't know why he doesn't try having Antro, Buff or Thorburn in the goalies face on the PP.

Anyone know the goal differential in the third for us now? It has to be some ridiculous number.

I'm glad a Jets fan said this so I didn't get attacked coming in here and mentioning this. I personally was shocked you guys didn't tie it, I was having numerous heart attacks watching that game. The refs seemed to be missing any calls they could to get you guys to win it and my Islanders don't usually handle bad reffing too well

And don't worry, we also cannot skate a full 60 minutes. We take periods off like we are the Detroit Red Wings. Good luck the rest of the way! The battle for this 8th spot in the Eastern Conference should be entertaining to say the least.
