Why don't you like... draft a defenseman with it?

Assuming this is at the draft it depends who is available and where the pick is but something around Giordano.

Komisarek and a 3rd.

Seriously though, that pick could either be a decent pick (8-10 range) or ultra valuable (top 3) base on about a 4 point swing. Really tough to come up with a good trade in that window.

For the Leafs I think starting the deal with a guy like Gardiner and then adding from there is decent value for the pick in the 7-10 range

What about you take on Weber and Diaz

Save the pick and plan for the future. Its unlikely the Isles make it now and if they do whats that first round exit against the rangers gonna prove except they dumped a decent pick in a deep defensive draft for a defensman at the deadline with likely less upside than who they would have drafted.

Why would the Islanders trade this pick. Guys we know your starved for some playoff action but you wont be in a position to contend for at least another three years. You may as well draft another stud defenseman prospect and sign a UFA.

They are only 6 points out with a game in hand they could make the playoffs with a strong push, but I get what you are saying about holding on to the pick.

Yes, but not for the 1st round pick. We'll give you 2nd and force you to take Rolston? How about that... he has that booming shot...

The Isles rebuild has gone for five years now with little to show for it resultswise. The Isles are pretty deep in prospects but they are all some time away from making an impact and the fans are getting impatient and the playoffs are a possibility. Also, the Isles pick can be anything from 1st to 15th this year so you're far from getting anything certain with that pick. I think Snow will be hesitant about moving the pick at the deadline but come the draft that may very well be the right thing to do.

The Isles will look for a youngish, powerful dman with a couple of years left on his deal.

I fixed it for ya.

Fans wishlist, differ somewhat from Snow's reported wishlist.

For apick that will be somewhere between 4th-9th?

Snow doesn't make trades like that.

Heck ,if Snow thinks it'll be closer to 14th overall then 4th overall, that's still not a trade Snow makes.

35/36 yr old Robidas for a 1st in a strong draft,in the 4th yr of the NYI youth movement?
That's a Milbury move ,not a Snow move.

With 4 pmd knocking on the door at Brideport, the isles will not be in themix for more young pmd.

During brief cup of coffee callups this season ,Ness and De Haan have impressed ,further weakening the chance that Snow goes out and uses trade chips on young pmd.
