Agreed. No team should have an undisputed #1. Vancouver could have won the cup last year if they rolled Schneider when Luongo was ******** the bed. Whoever plays well should get the starts. And at the moment, that's Crawford.

The starting goalie is really important, and you need wins from your back up. Emery get's wins.
Lol don't mean to make you sound like a tool, but Garon was the back-up for Pitts when they won the cup, not Brent Johnson.

I agree with you that both goalies are important during the regular season. It really allows your starter to have a breather during a long 82 game season. But your wrong if you think it's the same way in the playoffs. Your team wants 1 goalie they can rely on in the playoffs. If your switching, your team is going to be unstable.

if my goalie doesn't get a few games off in the RS, he won't have much left for the POs. Time has shown this again and again

Good thing Emery is a good back up who can play 20-25 games then.

Because hes already played 20 games and has a winning record...pretty much exactly the opposite of what you have been preaching the whole time. You said he wasnt going to win .250 of his games. WAIVE THE WHITE FLAG

I've been preaching he's the worst goalie in the league and at the very least 95% of the goalies in the NHL have had better years so if Steve Mason being the only guy to do worse makes me wrong, then I guess I'm wrong.

you're just a hater man. emery can be a solid backup. the hawks d wasn't helping the goalies out. look at crawford's and emery's stats, they're almost exactly the same

I just wonder why many have that low standards when it comes to goalies. Look at the league. There are 15 Top5 Goalies in the NHL right now... Goaltending is better than it ever was around the NHL and CC isn't a sure thing as of now

It wouldn't as long as we add another goalie. It's fine to stick with Crawford, I'm OK with it (yes I am).

what if he goes down and misses the POs and last 15 games? Would you like a tandem of Emery and Salak? I wouldn't

Looks like he is gone. If waived, we already have the thread ready. If thrown into a deal, good luck Ray, glad it's over.

If he did that in the NHL, that would be OK for a backup, unfortunately, he can barely do that in the AHL.

No, it would be good for a backup. That's what I've heard from you guys all year.

The sv% would be OK
If he won more games than he lost, it would be good.

They didn't waive Emery(I don't think) and you'd take Hutton over Emery? Just shows how incredibly ignorant and biased you are.

IMO this is what happened...

1. Hawks sign Hutton(for rest of the year)
2. He must pass through waivers because he is no longer waiver exempt

That is all. Hutton had already signed a ELC with San Jose so I think he can now be given 1 year deals.

Hey, the backup of one of the best teams for most of the time has wins, who would have thought that?
