Going to the Raps game on Wednesday with a group of about 60. Last time we went to a game - a 2009 preseason game at the JLC in London - this happened:
LONDON, Ont. – He's expected to be a favourite with Toronto Raptors fans this year, but it took just a couple of early hustle plays for Reggie Evans to endear himself to the crowd at the John Labatt Centre.
Evans' performance – albeit short-lived – was one highlight in a sloppy affair, prompting "Reg-gie, Reg-gie" from the crowd.
We started those Reggie chants, and it quickly caught on with the rest of the crowd. We even got some "We want Reggie" chants when he was on the bench. Also 4 years ago, the group went to a Bruins-Leafs game in Buffalo and basically took over the stadium (and evidently also the results page on google when you search "Leafs fans").
So hopefully we'll bring some excitement on Wednesday even if the team doesn't. Any injuries or hot streaks I should know about? I don't really follow the Raptors.
Worth noting now that the deadline for offer sheets on RFAs was last Thursday. So while I didn't really expect anything to happen because of the cap situation, any pipe dreams of Toronto stealing Wilson Chandler from the Nuggets are dead now.
IIRC, the trade deadline is next week Tuesday.

The Raptors are going to try to either move the veteran guard in some transaction or release him in the next week and a half, according to a team source.
JV looks promising, and if you think about the team with Bargnani they're pobably much closer to 500 right now. I was hoping for a top 5 pick but this draft is deep so I don't mind them winning a few more games, it gives the younger guys on the team some reward for playing hard. Hopefully we get one of the SF coming out this year barnes or MKG would be ideal but even a perry jones could be interesting. Next year is going to be really fun to watch the Raptors.
Did anyone hear John Shannon say on PTS that the Raptors turned down a deal of Dirk & Nash for Carter & Davis?
Shannon is standing by it. He says Grunwald told him at an MLSE meeting.
What could have been.
Who the hell was going to trade VC in 2001? Nash was then just a fringe all-star and Dirk was Bargs back then.
Remember Vince was a bonafide superstar at the time. I wouldn't have traded VC for both of those guys straight up. Let alone add in a great warrior in Antonio Davis. Grunwald was smart to not trade him.

Hindsight is 20/20.
+1, I love hearing this story as if who cares? Carter WAS the biggest thing in Basketball along with AI, why would we deal him for Nash/Dirk again?
