Yeah, there's no way you make that trade when VC is on fire. If only that trade was available and made when VC was actually traded instead of the useless package we got back from NJ....

Funnily enough (and by funnily I mean gut-wrenchingly), VC reported asked MLSE to get Nash on the Raptors but wasn't listened to. The one time that a marquee player makes a smart request (ie not Kwame or Antawn) and its ignored

Which leaves hope that next year, with a (hopefully) healthy Bargs, JV, and our 1st rounder, we can hopefully do somewhat well

T.J. Ford retired today. Sad to see him go. he was an effective player with the Raptors, and only 28 years old. That neck injury he suffered in Milwaukee really did a number on him.

He is only 28? Whoa, for some reason, I thought he was a lot older.

Really liked him in his time in Toronto. I wish him the best of luck.

If I'm not mistaken, he was taken around the 10th pick of the 04 draft. Same year as LeBron/Wade/Bosh/etc.

I remember the Ford/Calderon debates that used to rage on thread after thread on RealGM. Looking back, we probably should have stuck with that tandem since so much of our success was the different styles the two played and how it threw teams for a loop.

Trade deadline is tomorrow I think. Raptors aren't expected to do much, especially now that Calderon is hurt.

Also Glenn Rice Jr got kicked off of the Georgia Tech team for a shooting incident outside a nightclub.

Keep me up to date: Has Bargnani returned yet? If so, has this team improved the past month?

he's been back for 2 games. And "improved" is relative. They've been slightly better the last few games, but they're still on the low end of the spectrum.

What could they have gotten for Calderon if he wasn't hurt?

I wish they would trade Calderon for a first and give Bayless the reigns for the rest of the year. Calderon is not part of the future, we need to see what Bayless has got, and if he fails so what it helps the tank. We could then use our second first rounder on Rivers!

The deadline is Thursday at 3pm EST. And yeah, with Calderon out, I'm not sure if anything will be done. Maybe Barbosa...
I don't see DD, Bargs, Bayless, JJ, Amir, JV or draft picks being traded, so that leaves Barbosa, Kleiza, Davis, and...nothing really else.

I'd put money on D12 not going anywhere. At any rate it'll be glad to hear trade talk involving him go away (until the off-season when FA talk begins).
I have a feeling Pau is on the move, though.

God dammit it Raps. Just keep losing!

Raps have gotta trade Barbosa. Barbosa is having a solid season and I don't even care if all we can get for him is a 1st rounder, just do it. We don't need him.

I really don't understand that Milwaukee/Golden State trade from the Bucks' perspective. Ok yeah, they want to get rid of Stephen Jackson, and apparently their relationship with the oft-injured Bogut is on the rocks too. But they've got Brandon Jennings, a ball-dominating undersized SG masquerading as a PG with zero playmaking ability, and now they can pair him with Monta Ellis, a ball-dominating undersized SG masquerading as a PG with zero playmaking ability. Genius!

Then you tack on a one-trick pony in Udoh (he can block shots, but is a godawful rebounder, and a black hole of suck offensively) and Kwame "I only have trade value because of that "1/1" next to the "drafted" entry in my profile" Brown.

lol, Kwame Brown is still in this league? Haha.

But yeah, I don't like that deal either from Bucks perspective.

I don't think its that bad of a trade for the Bucks. Bogut is always injured, a lot of GSW fans were high on Udoh (go read their boards) and they gain capspace since they picked up Kwame's expiring.

Ellis and Jennings will either shoot teams outta the building or shoot the Bucks outta the game though. Not good news for the Knicks though, the Bucks did just get better.

Golden State was historically awful when they tried to play Ellis & Curry in tandem. I can't see how Ellis & Jennings are going to be any different. There's still only one ball and they have to share. And both probably have too big of an ego to accept being a 6th man.

They're not a contender by any means, but Ellis is still better than Jackson.

Seems like Jennings was more than willing to let Gooden, Dunleavy, and Ilyasova have the ball when the Raps played the Bucks a couple days ago. I think this is a good move for them if they wanted to make the playoffs. Plus Ellis is a FA next year so even if it doesn't work out, they will have a ton of capspace to rebuild if they want to.

Well, D12 has supposedly let ORL mgmt know that he's staying in ORL this year and that they should roll the dice and take a gamble on making a run this year...
Nash to ORL as a last ditch effort leaving ORL (even more) gutted if he leaves?
Lakers take a gamble and offer Bynum for a rental in order to get Kobe his 6th?

If I had to guess though, I'd say ORL management doesn't nothing too significant and ends up whining when he leaves as a FA amidst a flurry of spectacle.

The Raptors are closer to a playoff spot right now than the Leafs are
