I think there's more hype behind the story because you have Anthony on the side waiting to get back in as well. You get a supposed super star, your team sucks, you hand the starting PG to a nobody, and he becomes a sensation over night. All this is happening while Anthony is on the side line. That's the main story I find interesting behind all this. No way will I try to discredit what Lin is doing though, the whole story is great, and his play has yet to fall off.

What's with ppl getting hot and bothered by Lin's attention? He deserves every bit of it. This is a guy who couldn't get a scholarship to play ball, and went undrafted. Benched, waived, etc. He's the guy that came out of nowhere, got his chance, took the ball and ran with it. Good for him. We all wanted that chance to come out of nowhere and star for the Leafs.

It's because he's taiwanese, well, "Race" is always an issue. Thing is, this is what the NBA needs... a feel good story that will generate interest for new fans. Just read on twitter Bieber compares himself to him, both unknown talents who sustained success.

What? People are bothered by Lin's attention because he's asian?

From my standpoint, it would seem to be that the primary issue is that he's being treated like an all-star savior of the NBA for little more than a small run of games with no guarantee he'll be able to keep this up over the long term. It wouldn't matter if he was asian, black, white, latin, or from the 3rd planet in the Rigel system. People are throwing out ridiculousness like his game-winner vs Toronto belonging in the pantheon of great Toronto sports moments. Let him prove this isn't going to be a fluke run before we act like he's the next face of the NBA.

depends on the scoring breakdown of the league and the team itself (ie what the replacement players at that position are like), but most likely team A.

Team A.

Harden and Johnson are basically a wash this season.

Calderon is having a bounce back year and TD has picked up and is still playing at a decent level.

Also has Brook even played this season yet?

Wow D-Will just put on a clinic and showed the world how far Lin has to go to become an "elite" pg that he's already being portrayed as.

Actually I've backed Lin in this thread before... I like the kid he's doing well for himself and deserves a certain amount of acclaim but I do have a qualm with the media putting him with the Stocktons and Johnsons of NBA history and that isn't fair to the kid and to those legends. He'll make his own legacy and we don't people hyping him to be John Stockton why can't he just be Jeremy Lin?
Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of Lin and he did have a solid night but Deron Williams was on another planet compared to him tonight and it showed and that's where this kid needs to reach as a level if he wants his names mentioned with the elite.

Lol watch the game. Deron was just nailing everything. I don't really care who was playing defense on him.. He was shooting the lights out.

That's what I was trying to get at Deron took the game over by himself and showed what an elite PG is and that's something we expect from Deron and if Lin is the real deal then we will come to expect of him too, but for the moment being let the kid play his game and keep cementing his legacy no need for people to get defensive when I say D-Will showed us what a real "elite" pg is.

Quote:
"I don't really watch too many games, but I do see Twitter, people tweet me and every, you know, three lines it was 'Jeremy Lin destroyed Deron Williams,"' Williams said. "So I definitely took offence to that in the first game and definitely, like I said, I had it circled."
he had a personal vendetta in this one lol

To say Jeremy Lin doesn't play defense is wrong though. First, his coach is all about the fast break, and second he still gets steals and plays decent defense. Specially for a rook

People say it's unfair that he's getting all this attention because he's Asian, but it is true. People I've talked to and brought up how he's not the best story I've heard of and I cite Burrows and Bautista as examples and I've heard, but white people are supposed to be good and Bautista is Dominican, he's supposed to be good at baseball.

So there is a racial motivation to this.

If I go into New York, with Amare, Melo, Chandeler and a few others, they are all missing, and drop 30 points as a rookie in a game and steal the show. They'd be talking about me too. It's New York! It's a rookie! And there are 4 other stars on that team and he's playing better then all of them! That's why! Screw the race!

^^ THIS

If he was a white male, playing for the Raps... no one would give a ****. Fact is he's taiwanese, playing for the Knicks. Yeah, the NEW YORK KNICKS! I like the kid, he's definitely gaining my interest but there are some idiots saying he's the next MJ. Really?
