Travelling to Ottawa Next Weekend

Hey all,

My brother and I were looking at getting tickets to both games next weekend, but were looking for input on "best seats". Any suggestions?

There isn't really a bad seat in the house. If you want to drink don't get your seats in the Coca-Cola family fun zone(cheapest seats). The third I think has a bit more atmosphere to it, but the second level is the most ideal to actually see the game up close.

Best seats in thee house, IMO, are 200 level between the bluelines. If you can score those tickets, they're my fav. The 200 level only has 6 rows, A-to-F, so even if you're in row F, you have a really great view of the game.

I personally dislike any seat in the first 6 rows of the 100 level. Too close to the glass... once the play goes to the other end of the ice, you can't follow it because you're just not high up enough. Totally not worth the prices they charge for those seats.

Like WantEggRoll said, there's really not a "bad" seat in the house. VERY few seats have obstructed views of any kind. The 300-level corners are probably the "worst" seats, but you'll still have a very nice, unobstructed view of the game.

The No-Alcohol-Zone (aka: Coke Zero Zone) are sections 314-315-316 (behind the visitor's net), so if you like drinking, don't be fooled by the lower ticket prices in those sections: they're lower because NO BOOZE.

The only seats I don't really like are on the goal lines (in the corner, but still along the 'length' of the ice) in the higher reaches of the upper bowl. They're still good seats, but your view is slightly obstructed by the railings in the aisles as you look down the ice.

You'd be surprised to know that my favourite seats were almost at the very top in the 300's right alone the center line.

Maybe it's because I have good vision.

Also: any recommendations on hotels near Scotiabank / shopping near the arena?

Or are we better off getting a hotel in downtown Ottawa and taking a taxi to the games?

A taxi to the game would cost to much your better off driving, bussing, or even renting a car than taking a taxi from downtown. Probably gonna cost you 50$ bucks 1 way in a taxi from downtown especially in hockey traffic.

Just get a hotel downtown and take the bus (403) to the game.

The 400 level boxes are nice if you like that view from up top. Same distance from the ice as the top of the 300s but your more on top of the rink. The Ledge, I think it was the Penalty Box before seems like a good way to do without having to rent a suite.

I once took a cab from the game to the byward market. Cost me $60

200-level center ice is the best bang for your buck in my opinion.
