Well, you've got 11 signatures so far. Added mine just for the hell of it.

It's a start, I guess.

You're making an effort and I don't mean to discourage that, but internet petitions are literally meaningless when it comes to this sort of thing.

If you really want to do a petition, it's going to need human signatures.

Petitions are useless... if you want to help a team to move to Queens, start raising awareness of the issue in Queens. Maybe start a blog concentrating your efforts and centralizing Islanders-to-Queens news/info or something. Grass roots!

i understand a blog, real sigs are better but i do have a job and dont have the time right now to be quite honest...however i do feel the main problem is charles may not know that most isles fans currently would prefer the team to move to queens for various reasons including the fact that nassau just straight up doesnt deserve them any longer....i sent this out to people on twitter as well as botta so if we get up to thousands of signatures (unlikely) i will forward to wang and maybe he will take note that a lot of people prefer Queens...

for the 2 minutes it took me to put together it cant hurt

whether you believe this will work or not, please sign no matter who you root for (even ranger fans). this is a fan trying to do something for his team and i couldnt support it more. as an islander fan i wish there was more i could do to keep the team here, but anything helps. even if its a signature to a potentially pointless petition.

Signed regardless, I don't like the Isles but would hate to see them legitimately relocated.

Why Queens? If they're gonna move somewhere else on Long Island, doesn't Brooklyn make more sense? The Barclays Center (new home for the Nets) is currently under construction, and I seem to remember some vague talks about the Isles moving there being a possibility.

the barclays center was made for basketball and they would "accommodate" a hockey rink...it would be 13,500 seats with many of them being an obstructed view. charles would also not be able to take in much revenue from it and thus not be profitable....

queens on the other hand has the willets point project which will allow a new stadium to be constructed along with many housing, retail outlets as well (similar to the lighthouse project...he will be able to make a lot more money as well as the isles have a better home....

queens is also much closer and easier to get to for most of LI.....LIRR stops right there and is a quick 20 min drive from the stadium...in addition the 7 train (subway) stops there too..the project point is right in between citi field and the US open Tennis site, which would create a sports hub

edit: the head of the queens chamber of commerce said they must start talking now about bringing the isles...in addition, Mayor bloomberg said he would be very interested in bringing the islanders to the city

i did not mean to insult your TML but there is no need for what you said...for the time being the isles arent going any where...i think my point was..i think you have more important issues with your own team than to be making insulting comments like the one you did

I was born in Long Island and have a sort of soft spot for the Islanders, so hell, I signed this. I want the Islanders to stay in the area badly, so if it's not going to work in Nassau, it might as well be the next closest county.

What they need is a new owner and not a guy who has some kind of fetish about signing questionable players to ridiculously long contracts. The teams hasn't won a playoff series in 18 years ffs so no wonder they can't get more than 66,000 to support the referendum. I'd be surprised if Wang would move them anywhere so if they move anywhere it would be under a new ownership.

This is a great Idea!
This would go into Flushing Meadow Park where they already have Citi Field and Arthur Ash Tennis Stadium (U.S. Open). Public transportation takes people right to the stadium and it is very easy to get there by car as well, something most places in New York don't have. Queens residents would be for this because we need the jobs and I am sure most long islanders would rather see the Islanders move next door to Queens then to some other city. Queens is technically on Long Island so they wouldn't even have to change the team's name.

I was just making a joke; which I get was a little insensitive since I've never gone through the possibility of losing my team to another city like you are potentially going though.

Everyone please sign this, hopefully we get 1000+ people to sign it atleast. I love my Islanders, and I grew up a season ticket holder living 10 minutes away from NVMC and I live in Nassau. Nassau doesn't deserve them, please move them to queens!!!

Barclays is not an arena for hockey. You will still need to build a new arena
