Unfortunately, I don't think anything like that is going to happen.
This is what Dana told MMAJunkie earlier this week:
Rampage has come out to the Pride music before and the UFC usually lets him do whatever he wants so even if Dana is against it, he still might use the Pride theme song as his entrance music.
He has to come out to it.

Bisping's awesome, I wish he would've planted a knee in the face of everyone in Rivera's corner after Jorge's team's ridiculous pre-fight bashing of him.

This is a tough fight for Mark Hunt, and it's sad that his nice little winning streak will probably come to an end. I think Kongo wrestles him to a decision.
You're likely right but I also thought Rothwell would wrestle him to a decision. Maybe Hunt will surprise again.

That's my reason for picking Hioki as well and like you I wouldn't be surprised at all if Bart wins. The success of the Brazilian fighters at 142 had an influence on my picks. Hopefully, it works out.
I haven't made my picks yet, but as of now I'm going with Ben. I think he's got a great shot.
This, if anyone can take the belt from Edgar its' Smooth. I will definately bet on him, I am a pretty big Smooth supporter though so my judgment is definitely clouded.
Lightweight Championship bout: Frankie Edgar (c) vs. Benson Henderson - I think Henderson is going to offer a much more diverse attack than anyone who has fought Frankie thus far. The difference in this fight will be leg kicks, Henderson throws them often and with authority, Frankie will slow down because of it.

That and he isn't nearly as bad as he looked in his first fight. Hioki is a high end fighter IMO, he just had a poor showing like many fighters have. I think we'll see him looking much better going forward, getting a crack at the 145 belt down the road.

I think Henderson has such a varied attack and is so hard to take down, Edgar is going to have a hard time matching him. To be honest, I could see "Smooth" latching on his famous guillotine. Henderson via submission, 4th round
Light Heavyweight bout: Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs.Ryan Bader
I like Rampage, but I think Bader is the new wave. I think he'll use his raw power and strength, plus his great camp, to succeed in taking Rampage down, and beating him up on the ground. Bader via TKO, 2nd round
Heavyweight bout: Mark Hunt vs. Cheick Kongo
Both are strikers, but Kongo has the reach and the raw power, as well as better grappling skills. I think Kongo is smart enough to know this, and takes Hunt down, quickly mounts him, and pounds him out. Kongo via TKO, 1st round
Welterweight bout: Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Jake Shields
Akiyama doesn't have the finishing power in his hands to knock him out, and he sure doesn't want to grapple with Shields - however, I think he uses his more refined striking to outpoint Shields for three rounds. Akiyama by decision
Middleweight bout: Yushin Okami vs. Tim Boetsch
Okami takedown. Grind, ground and pound, but Boetsch is tough - no finish. Okami via decision
Featherweight bout: Hatsu Hioki vs. Bart Palaszewski
Hioki will have to avoid the striking of "Bartimus", but I think eventually Hioki gets the fight to the ground and submits him with his seasoned grappling. Hioki via submission, 2nd round
Lightweight bout: Anthony Pettis vs. Joe Lauzon
Lauzon has faced solid strikers before, and Pettis is no exception. However, he also knows how to get in close and bring the fight down. His grappling is leagues above Pettis, and that'll be the difference. Lauzon by submission, 3rd round

My money's on Smooth as well, but like you, I'm very biased. WEC 43 (Henderson vs. Cerrone I) was one of the first cards I watched when I first started getting into MMA. I went into the fight rooting for Cowboy, solely because I thought he was goofy. By the end of the night, Henderson was my favorite fighter, and still is today. Showing by support by making this the first PPV I've ever bought, rather than heading out to a bar to watch.

Well for one thing Edgar's biggest asset is his speed. Henderson's got Cruz as his sparing partner so I'm more confident about him pulling off a (slight) upset now.
Henderson is going to get exposed, much like Cerrone did. Edgar is just on another level. You think Ben Henderson could fight Maynard three times and a dominant Penn twice and not lose?

I really dont think so.
Agree completely. I get that Smooth is a great fighter and I take nothing away from him but Edgar is just too good to me to lose right now.
If Henderson looks like he did against Guida then I don't see him winning this fight. Edgar's a lot faster than Guida and a much better striker. He's probably a better wrestler too. It won't surprise me if Henderson wins but with how Edgar has looked the last couple years I don't know how you pick against him. Someone mentioned that Smooth could win by sub but I really doubt that happens myself. Frankie has good sub D and it's been a couple years since Smooth has finished anyone.
We will see. Like I said it will be somewhat of an upset if Henderson wins but I think he will show improvements from his last couple of fights. He will be hungry to win the belt I'd think.

"Exposed" is a bit of a stretch, he may end up losing but he certainly won't get exposed. Every guy he beat in the WEC just happened to be good enough to stick around in the UFC post merger. Then he comes here and walks through Bocek, Miller, and Guida, 3 very high level fighters.
Ben may lose this fight buy you are definitely selling him short and the Cerrone comparison is off base.

Complete opposite for me. Frankie has hearth, but Henderson just about has the best cardio in the UFC. Other thing is, Henderson is probably one 0of the fighters that thinks the most out there, and Edgar has giant holes in his game that he covers up with great speed in his combos. Henderson will win it before the 5th round IMO.
BTW, has Maynard taken his retirement? What's taking him so damn long to fight again? Most of the top boxers out there have one match set-up after the other, and they earn about 20x the UFC fighter pay. Those long breaks in the UFC are really annoying...
