The most surprising aspect of the team

Gaborik considered on of the worst shootout players EVER, with a disgusting shootout percentage. Leads our team AINEC, with 4 shootout goals. What the hell has gotten into him? Meanwhile a guy that was supposedly pretty good at shootouts is like 0-8 (Richards). I'm amazed at how much Gabby bettered his shootout game. Major props for improving a glaring weakness so many seasons in.

Edit: Of course being in first in the east is more surprising. But that's not what I mean by "aspect". That's more like a general result. If you asked me before the season what I would believe more, that we're second in the league with a 1.98 GAA or Gaborik has 4 shootout goals in 8 shootouts in the season, I'd take the former.

If I remember correctly he scored all 4 goals in different ways. He really opened up the tool box.

Gaborik is starting to approach the shootout the way he approaches breakaways. He's the closest thing to automatic on breakaways but he used to completely overthink his shootout attempts and he used to skate in much slower.
