I still can't believe they put Santino in the match.
This has got to be the worst shape Smackdown has EVER been in. Between Bryan as champion, Khali and Santino in the Chamber, and Natalya with a farting gimmick..I mean **** what are they thinking? The Rumble winner can;t even get booked on the PPV but Santino is in the title match? I know the top 3 guys on the roster (Orton, Christian, Henry) are out but gee wiz.
I don't think they take Santino out in favor of someone like *COUGH* Christian.
Even though it has been 4 months since Christian sprained his ankle (people have come back from partial ACL tears quicker), he must still not be ready or had a major setback.
They have had 4 chances in 3 weeks now to return Christian and haven't done it. Why?
- Royal Rumble? Didn't do it
- Return and settle the program with Sheamus so the Rumble winner wasn't left off of the card? Nope.
- Henry's EC spot? Didn't do it, went to Khali
- Orton's EC spot? Didn't do it, went to Santino
Unless they have some grand angle for him and that's why the held him out and resorted to putting Santino and Khali in the EC, Christian ain't coming back for a while and I wouldn't be surprised if the next time we see him is inducting Edge into the HOF.
Why else would they keep him off TV if he wasn't injured?
The only way Christian comes back in the EC is if something happens to Santino and Christian takes his spot and wins the Championship (he has to actually win the title, otherwise it's a pointless surprise return and it could set up Sheamus/Christian/Orton/Bryan or Sheamus/Christian or Sheamus/Orton/Christian). Note: this would have had to of been the grand plan all along and that's why they didn't include him to begin with to take Henry's spot
I haven't watched SD since he got injured (have only read spoilers) and it is a bummer that he still isn't back. Each week I read spoilers in hopes of him coming back, but nay.
i heard that santino will be getting attacked by mark henry then he will take his place (this will happen at ppv) i hope it doesnt though i wanna see santino haha
i think Santino can actually wrestle, he probably has a much bigger moveset than he's allowed to demonstrate. I still remember the shocked look on his face when he started performing moves that he'd never done before.

Mark Henry was supposed to be put in the Chamber match on Smackdown but it was deemed he's still physically incapable of working a match due to his injuries.

We thats the WWE thing, wrestling is the least they care about.
If you can wrestle = Clown to garner laughs who uses a face poke as a finnisher like Santino, or a jobber.
If you cant wrestle but are either A) Really Tall or B) roided up or C) Both then you get gigantic pushes (aka Mason Ryan, Batisita, Khali)
So true. Remember John Cena's first match ever against Kurt Angle? Such a great match. Cena wouldn't get so much hate if he wrestled like that
Even Cena's match against Punk at MitB was VERY good technical match.
Orton is one of the best technical guys in the company but they dumbed him down to Clothesline/Scoop Slam/DDT from Ropes/Backbreaker/RKO. Last year during his program with Christian he was doing some cool stuff like experimenting with the Olympic Slam and Boston Mudcrab but he's gotten away with it and gone back to being cookie cutter.
Santino is actually a pretty good technical wrestler. Lest we forget he's a former Intercontinental Champion. They'd just rather have him be a jester and get cheap pops for acting goofy and having an accent.
I would not go as far as to say Santino is a *pretty good techincal wrestler*.
He could be for all we know, but we have nothing to base it off of really. No doubt about it the man can probably work on par with most of the middle of the pack of the roster if they actually wanted him to work (he's probably not as bad as Miz/Riley/Otunga but he's probably not in the slightly-above-average-Kofi Kingston range).
When has Santino (as we know him) ever worked a singles match longer than 5 minutes where he gets a decent amount of offense in and actually worked a wrestling match? At least with Cena we have seen him do some things, Santino... not so much (but in fairness to Santino, has he really needed psychology/technical ability? All Santino needs is his trumpet deal, 2 minutes, when he's heel he'll get squashed/when he's babyface he'll hit the Cobra, then trumpet some more)

He was actually heading to Japan to start a professional MMA career, but visa problems kept him out of the country and he took pro wrestling classes instead. His gimmick in OVW was a stiff brawler and he got pretty over with it.
Paul Heyman was the one who actually came up with the gimmick and told Vince to give him a shot, and don't forget Vince hand-picked Santino to win the Intercontinental Title in his first WWE match.

I really hope this doesn't happen. I'm very tired of Mark Henry. I would rather see Justin Gabriel, Drew Macintyre, or even Brodus Clay in the chamber. I'm sure Santino will do alright, but to me the chamber isn't the place for him.
