Nash To Buffalo

What would it take? Buffalo has money, has not performed well, they need to shake it up already. I'd think Enroth would have to be part of the deal for Columbus, and maybe Derek Roy. What you got?

We have a huge logjam on the LW. I'd love to add Nash but we've already got Leino, Ennis, Vanek on LW. Also, his cap hit is scary.

They won't (or shouldn't) move their captain for Nash.

If they do acquire him, they must move a top-6 winger for a center. Signs point to Stafford.

Roy will not be included unless they're getting Nash on the cheap.

Nash plays RW. I think the Sabres would have to start with Stafford, add to it obviously and build a trade around that.

So is Leino's LOL. Maybe they can throw him to Columbus to make room as far of the deal.

Anyway, I doubt CBJ would do anything like this. Ehnroth is okay but he's not anyone's answer IMO.

He won't waive his NMC for Buffalo right now. We're not anywhere close to winning anything of importance. Maybe if this was happening last spring/summer when the Era of Good Feelings was evident in Buffalo and players were waiving NTC's to play in Buffalo and UFAs were signing with us.

And Buffalo shouldn't waste the amount of assets it'll take to get him. They need those assets to eventually acquire a center.

I don't see Buffalo able to make this move this year. They have to shed salary and I don't see C'Bus taking anything on unless we over pay.

If we can move Hecht and Boyes to the AHL or a team willing to take them on, I'd say
Stafford
Ennis
1st

for Nash

I think that's fair, but I don't think Darcy could stomach that much change.

That package might get you Nash, but definitely not with Atkinson. The kid is leading the AHL in scoring during his rookie year. I'd assume he's rather untouchable as far as prospects go (unless Myers is in the mix). Max is a UFA at the end of the year and has been pretty underwhelming and I'm a big fan of him, very nice guy.

30 goal scorer last year.
Potential 70+ point winger
Currently 4th overall pick

For..

Underproducing Rick Nash with a massive cap-hit, along with Buffalo's need for centers and not wingers.

I don't think Nash would waive his NMC for Buffalo at the moment. They are 10 points out of a playoff spot and they really are not close to being a Stanley Cup contender. If Nash agrees to move from Columbus, it will only be for one of the handful of top-flight teams in the NHL.

Please Boston stay away from Nash!

5th Highest Cap Hit (any position) in the NHL & he's only hit 70 Points 1 time in 8 NHL seasons.

This guy is massively overpaid!

Thanks for posting this reminder on every page of every Nash thread

As for the other junk you are attempting to sell as fair value for Nash, it's not happening. We are talking about Matthew Lombardi and/or Tim Connolly, are we not? So Columbus is going to deal their franchise player for Luke Schenn and a first rounder, oh, and a couple warm bodies? That offer might get you Tyson Nash. It certainly won't sniff Rick Nash, however.

While the Jackets would ask each club for a different return, the team reportedly wants a young roster player, along with some combination of high-end prospects and draft picks.
Luke Schenn - young roster player
Tim Connolly - evens cap and has 1 year left on deal, can trade for other assets
Nazem Kadri - high end prospect
1st/2nd round pick

how many times are you going to post this exact same thing in these Nash threads? not to mention the times where you show your dislike for him a little more subtly....... we got it, we get it.

How many times do you want to state the same stance on this subject? Chiarelli doesnt read HFBoards.
