In laymans terms, this is absolutely correct.

Assume it's a tear people, any news otherwise will just excite you.

Only in the "New" NHL would a direct knee on knee go unpunished and Marchand's "clip" be looked at. Shannahan really needs to get a clue. I know he's looking out for the players well being, and you can't fault him for that at all, but he's gone way too far with his decisions.

If by bad you mean awesome, then you'd be correct.

Wasn't the entire series bad? But in an awesome way?

no, that episode was kinda bad. "my niece sinead o'connor". a lot of the other episodes were good...but I felt anything that had them lip-syncing were the bad ones

Pevs probably should have rolled around on the ice to get his attention.

I think the Bruins are getting injured and nobody notices because they generally get up and get off the ice (or in Horton's case go let the guy that cheap shotted him know he made the cheap shot).

You people have unfortunate taste in cheesy 90s teen soaps.

Back on topic, I wonder if whatever was ailing Peverley earlier this year got re-aggrivated last night with that hit....

100% correct.

Sometimes swelling isn't a great indicator as it depends on the location of the injury and the person. Bruising is a better sign that something isn't right.

They may opt to scope it after all tests are done. Only way to really tell how bad it is as sometimes films and studies aren't 100% accurate.

I'm going to hope for the best.

The linesman is right there but the ref looked like he was turning around in anticipation of the play coming his way.

If it bent back like you said then it will be at the very least an MCL strain if it was really snapped back it is likely a tear not sure how bad it will be but I have dealt with 9 total knee operations since the age of 16 and 3 have been complete rebuilds from an impact just like what you describe, I hope he is ok it sucks and takes forever to repair and rehab properly.

"New NHL" refs make reaction calls all the time, such as the Marchand clipping call last night. Seeing Peverley go down like that would be enough for a call if it were another team, I'd bet.

If all he did was re-aggravate that "lower body injury" the Bruins dodged a huge bullet. I fear that isn't the case though.

I don't think that's all he did, I'm wondering if it was in addition to...which would be an additional bullet. I'm still a bit sketched out by the lack of details about whatever that injury was.

Yuck.

Yeah, it's like I said above, albeit poorly worded haha. I'm preparing myself for a season ending knee injury. Anything less is great news.

Yep, the refs are made to look like fools dozens of times/game and seemingly have no problems with it. Sometimes I question whether NHL refs actually review and critique their own performances.

You want a penalty, act like you've been shot. You want to fight through things like a man, prepare to go unrewarded.

Emelin has fit in well in Montreal. Last season, the guy's in Russia far from Habs culture. This season, he's flopping around like a fish when he's totally fine.

I am hoping for the best, but something tells me he is going to be out at least a few weeks best case and the season worst case. It didn't look good to me, and with the bend and the direction his body was going in when contact was made, I can't help but think something is most likely torn.

So I will hope for the best, but don't have much optimism that this one is going to turn into a dodged bullet.
