Losing isn't always bad. Sometimes adversity makes you stronger. They could have learned you can't take nights off and expect to win.

During intermission, name your favorite Blue.

Oshie

Like someone said before, imagine he didn't struggle to get points early in the season.

Oh yeah I know. I meant in time. I think Oshie-Backes-Tarasenko could be amongst the best lines in hockey down the line

Pretty happy with Huskins' play. Reminding us how physical he can play in the corners and along the boards. His game is just very simple, very bare bones, very consistent, very effective. Truly prefer him as a partner to Colaiacovo.

Okay, if Stewie doesn't score this period, I'll streak on the ice next game.

Yeah, that's the line I have been saying too. Imagine the relentlessness of those 3 ?

Oshie and Backes would teach Tarasenko how to play a 2 way game too.

Would it really be such a bad thing to straight-up replace Stewart with Tarasenko, I wonder? It's easier to swap guys in systems like ours, and I bet Tarasenko would be able to match Stewart's totals from this year while making a lot less (when you factor in his raise next season).

If someone offer-sheets Stewart for $3.5-4m, would you match it or take the 1st and 3rd in compensation?

Except Oshie and Tarasenko are both right wingers. And to Liut...The answer for now is Pietrangelo! And why wouldn't it be?

He'd have 10 PIMs if he hadn't gotten 2+10 in the final minute of the last Detroit game. I still don't understand how Petro and Backes, I think it was, got misconducts and no one on the Wings did.

It would be the next Crosby vs. Ovechkin argument

Would depend on the team and length of the deal.

Stewart won't be getting an offer sheet though, it just won't happen.

I agreed with ya, with Huskins A-Pie can take more chances offensively, very nice to see actually.

He's growing on me for sure, but my favorite is Shattenkirk. HM to Perron, Oshie, and Pietrangelo.

And speaking of those 4...what a powerplay unit they are creating (along with Backes). Love these bunches of goals we've been scoring. Oshie, Shattenkirk and Pietrangelo just create wonderful passing.

Perron 9 points in his last 7, Pietrangelo has like 21 in his last 18 for crying out loud, and Oshie is racking up a lot of points recently too. Great tip-in by him tonight.

These guys are all playing fantastic and it's been fun to watch tonight. Nice offensive output and just a dominating 2nd period. Go Blues!

I agree, but I think a lot of it has to do with how McDonald complements him as well. McDonald's speed backs off the defense/draws it to him which both make room for Berglund, his vision/patience when distributing the puck gets it to open areas of the ice where it's easy to get a good shot on net, he's great at getting the puck to the net himself, and he's constantly driving the net/middle of the ice.

All of that lets Berglund be a bigger factor when he goes to the front of the net (more shots = more rebound/tip/screen opportunities), and creates a bit more time and space for him when he has the puck on his own stick (which allows him to play more "facing the net", to borrow your own observation from awhile back).
