Read it when you posted this. It's almost as bad as the official forums and the comment section on the DMN. Almost, but not quite.

That's a good start. Now they just need to move Robidas, Souray, and Morrow.

This bums me out. He was having a ****** year no doubt, but I honestly think it had to do with the rest of this team and the morale in the room. He'll be a force in Philly.

The fire sale begins!

Grossman averaged 3rd highest PP (2:13) and PK (2:12) minutes for Dallas. He will help #flyers ST
poor flyer's fans... they think he might help on the PP

I wouldn't bet on that Joe will trade another defenseman.

With Oleksiak, Nemeth, Jo Benn, Dillon all knocking on the door and Fistric and Larsen stepping up and being deserved NHLers, getting two pretty decent pick for a UFA i doubt we re-sign is a good deal.

I just hope the plan is we use LA's 2nd to trade up in the first round, hopefully get from say pick 8 to pick 4 or something..Get a Stud not a risk.

He pulled Souray's stats instead of Grossman's.

Thanks for all Grossman, this wasn't his season. He was pretty decent and one of our better defensemen in previous years (yeah, not a huge achievement). I like the return.

Not at all. We just needed a steady guy. Nothing fancy. Good luck with the two picks. I was worried that Homer was going to deal some of our kids and was glad to see he did not. This team is very young and at 27 he fits the bill. Anyway like I said before. Good luck. I hope the deal works out for both teams.

Good value back for Dallas. Glad Fistric can stay in the line up now.

Of the Niskanen, Fistric, and Grossman trio, it looked like Grossman had the most upside. Now to are gone.

Saad was taken one spot before Brett Ritchie.

At least Joe went big asking for Saad. Better to have it fall through than take too little.

Hey, a trade!

Sorry GLU/FF.

It's unfortunate that Grossman stopped developing and started regressing. I had hoped he would be a fixture on our blueline for many years as well. But that's what happens sometimes with defensemen. Joe did what needed to be done so that Fistric and Larsen can continue contributing.

I felt confident he would return a 2nd rounder. I'm pleasantly surprised that we're getting an additional 3rd. We're back to a full compliment of 7 picks for this upcoming draft at least.

The Saad news is interesting. I guess we can put Ritchie in the Glennie camp of "not the guy they really wanted".
