GM Joe: I don't like the label buyer or seller. This means we are going to be active in trade talks
Sharks fan here, I come in peace. Damn that is a terrible trade on Philly's part. Huge overpayment for a guy who only has 5 points this season. Not bashing Grossman or the Stars at all in any way but I mean, I can't be the only one that thinks a 2nd and a 3rd is WAY too much for Grossman. Nice steal though Stars.

yeah they think he is a physical force and delivers punishing hits... you've seen alot more of him than they have

Meh. I think it's an ok trade. Flyers desperately need defense. They didn't trade for Grossman to get points, they traded for him to prevent points, which hopefully he does.

Your probably making too much of a judgement on him from that shocking turnover in our last game
He isnt there for offense, Philly has plenty in that department, they needed to improve in their own end and on the PK, His big body will help that.

It's not a terrible trade for the Flyers at all. Grossman used to be good. Maybe he can be good again with a little jolt to his system.
If the shoe were on the other foot though and the Stars were buyers, I certainly wouldn't be thrilled with paying that price, that's true.
The way Niewy talks about not maintaining contract talks makes me think this was their solution to the 8 D stopgap the entire time. Thus why we never saw Pardy waived, Larsen sent down at times, etc. Simply were waiting till the deadline.
The last part of that video is one of the best thing I've ever heard Joe say. Thank god he feels the same way most of us do about ending this cycle of mediocrity.
Didn't see it posted on here, but reading the Flyer's thread on this, the 3rd in 2013 is Minnesota's pick. So more reason to cheer against not only LA, but also Minnesota.
Edit: I should read what I copy from the Stars website. Fail. Posted in the first post.

This needed to happen so Fistric could be in the lineup every night. The fact that the return was a 2nd and a 3rd is icing. The team as a whole improved and the extra picks are always a bonus.
Now if we can do the same for Sourey, Dvorak, Burish, and Robidas I'd be really happy.

One thing I noticed about grossman that noone seemed to ever talk about was how hard his shot was. Granted he barely used it, but when he'd hammer them in from center I was amazed everytime. I'm willing to bet outside souray he has/had the hardest shot on the team.
Where the hell is that guy getting his stats from?
LOL - I just came to this board to see what "you the Dallas fans" were saying. Reason? Because our beat writer(s) are absolutely brutal. Tim P (the guy who wrote that) barely knows who our players are, and to listen to him speak on "other teams" players is just funny.
In reading what the Dallas fans have to say, and reading what Bill Meltzer has written (writes for Dallas and Philadelphia for hockeybuzz), I get the impression that we have a decent stay at home defenceman who is underachieving this year. He is a big body who uses that frame inconsistently, blocks a lot of shots and is useful on the PK.
