I'm going way up to Prince George/Rupert for a funeral, and I've heard that the area is the scariest place in Canada in regards to crime? I also heard not to travel down the "Highway of Tears"? What's that? I've done some research and couldnt find much.
Thanks alot!
My hotel is also in Victoria, so how about Victoria too?

tip 1 for not getting killed in scary cold canadian cities: answer all the questions! if some dangerous canuck says "where do you want it, left leg or right" and you go "oh im sorry i never thought about my legs like that" it might be a get a lot worse!

Omg, this is a serious thread I wouldn't post it if it wasn't, I can't find a ton of info online..
I really don't know what you mean - there's a ton of info online and if you had bothered to read the link you were given, you would understand what the Highway of Tears is. Thousands of people take Highway 16 every day and nothing happens to them so it's really hard to take this thread seriously, it's not like this is a remote mountain road in the middle of the Central America drug trade or something and people get killed and mugged every hour.

I read the link, it told me about the hitch hikers this is a serious question I understand since I'm a bruins fan no1 likes me, I apologize for asking some knowledge from actual residents .
And I'm visiting the area for a funeral for my brother thank you very much.

What???
Sorry if I came off rude but seriously, there is just so much info online, I have no idea what you're asking for or what you're scared of. The people who disappeared were all young women and mostly from First Nations communities.

I have No idea what a First Nation community is lol, anyways
My question has been answered regarding Hwy 16, I sincerely didn't find enough info for me to draw conclusions so I wanted to ask the residents who live in the area.
How about my other questions? I looked didn't find a whole lot and would like some first hand opinions, that's why im here!
Unless you are a young female who likes to hitchhike you've got nothing to worry about on Highway 16. And unless you like to wander around Prince George's streets during the wee hours of the night you probably have nothing to worry about there either.

Most crime in Victoria is breaking and entering and petty robbery, there's not much violent crime and probably less than in most American cities of its size. These are just slightly odd questions to be honest, it's not like Canada is a third world country - it's like any other city in the US and probably a bit safer. There's some gang crime in Prince George but I'm not sure how someone just visiting the city would get involved enough in that to worry about it.

So I'm probably not going to get gunned down in broad daylight correct?
What's up with the cold weather cities being the most dangerous in the country!

I saw them as top 2 on top of the list of most dangerous in the country that's why I asked. I would ask the same about Detroit, St Louis, Miami, Winnipeg, etc.
