I would have thought that if we were going to trade Schnu to Tbay before the deadline it would have included Downie....guess not....

That being said, I don't think we trade Cory before the deadline.

Cept' he's kinda a soft player who doesn't use his size by all accounts.

If there's a year to trade our first round pick it's this year, need to make a big push this year and we could be able to recoup another 1st round pick by moving Schnieder after the season.

Well at this point, he'd be an improvement over Raymond.

I wouldn't mind OTT but I honestly don't see why gillis wold do this trade. His cap hit is higher than Torres. They play similar games. (though ott is better IMO)

With his cap hit, I would be surprised to see him here though.

van needs another sandpaper player like ott. plays on the edge, can score, can move up and down the lineup. if sedins get pushed around, move ott to the 1st line then see what happens. burrows gets shifted down to the third.

I respectfully disagree. Although I like Robidas, that's a tonne to give up for a guy of his calibre.

I'm guessing that we'd have to somewhat overpay at the deadline given the price dmen are going for

You don't move your organizations top forward prospect for a bottom pairing defenseman.

Schroeder > Jensen

One is a PPG player in junior, the other has been a close to PPG player in the AHL for the last 20 games or so. We always overrate our junior prospects then wonder why they don't produce at the pro level, Jensen is no exception. Until Jensen puts up PPG numbers in the AHL Schroeder has more value outside of HF land.

Bobby Ryan.....what would it take?

Raymond, 1st round pick, Rome, Jordon Schorder

Booth Kesler Bobby Ryan.......that is an amazing second line of speed grit and skill

I'm all for moving our 1st if it upgrades the team, the main problem is cap space. Since we can only afford a 2mil player, there aren't many guys out there that hold the value of a 1st+ and are available.

Hodgson, Raymond, 1st. Still, I don't see why Anaheim does it.

Ballard + Raymond for Ott and Robidas probably makes more sense capwise. And Dallas get a guy signed for 3 more years for their backend. I think Ballard would actually be a really good fit in Dallas too.

I love how you throw Rome in as if he's a valuable piece.

What about Raymond, 1st, 3rd for Morrow? He's having a down season but I still think he has something in the tank. He may be available...

Ott + Robidas (maybe a late round pick) for Ballard Raymond Rodin

I dunno, Robidas is not an upgrade on Ballard at all. The only advantage is he makes less money. But we have no idea how he'll adapt to our complex system, I'd rather not risk it and keep Ballard.

Given that, the rest seems like a big overpayment for Ott, there are better options out there.

If Ballard is heading to LTIR we should go for Leopold. He may cost our 1st but it'd be worth it. We could also grab Gaustad to center our 3rd line allowing Hodgson to play 2nd line RW.
