Wasn't JVR the guy they got when Flyers had the tank year?

Interestingly enough J. Bailey was recently put on the trading block by the NYI...if you all recall the twitterverse said Gomez pulled out of the deal at the last second that would send Bailey our way? Now Bailey was put on the block a few days ago and now @*************** reports what he reported about Gomez...
The bigger news though is if he is correct about Rick Nash...
If it is PG should get that deal done in a new york minute, he is probably working on the gomez deal at the same time because of the 50 contract limit..if this all true..

He is having a really bad year and the Flyers have great trade bait in him. They should definitely ship him out, watching them play this year Voracek and Simmonds have been better and passed him on the depth chart. They should move him
And if Gomez is traded I'd be really really surprised. I know his cap hit stays up while his contract goes down for the last 2 years but a team is better off speding 5 million on a UFA
His cap hit is quite low even if the contract is too long. I'd love us to take a chance on him.
I think the biggest problem with him is his behavior off the ice, if I was PG I'd try to get infos about that. Often it's a problem that solve itself with time but other times it does'nt.
That stuff ends with maturity and finding a good woman. I think after two trades in less than a year, something will snap in his head.

Agreed. It's more likely that there would be a 'gentlemen's agreement' where Gomez would be placed on waivers, only for Team X to pick him up at half-price on re-entry.
#GOMEZ update: #Habs and #Coyotes talking; interest generated lately and Gomez could be gone by deadline.

#Habs NOT asking much, ready to just get rid of the cap. #Isles also looking at Gomez. He'd like to return to NYC area.
Feeling around the league right now is Gomez could use a change of scenery and more interest in him NOW than past 2 years. #Habs
Thing ppl need to understand about Gomez is caphit is 7.3M and he has 2 years left, with actual contract 5.5M and 4.5M. Great for cap floor.
About as non-credible as they come, but it still gave me the warm and fuzzies - so have at it
please please please please, pleeeaaaaaasssee be true!
But didn't we go through that last deadline week... ?
Anyway, that'd be awesome ! Maybe Santa could rid us of Kaberle and Bourque's deals while at it ?

Do you want to be a cap floor team?
What's the point of 300 mil in revenue if you don't spend to the cap? We are better off with Bourque than spending 4.5-5 mil on a similar UFA. Kaberle I would wait to see if markov is back at 100% before moving him, unless it's a goood offer(see Gill).

One can only hope.
Why the heck would the Habs put Gomez on re-entry and be stuck with 3.65 mil of cap hit for a player not on the roster...may as well leave him AHL/KHL/Europe and have no cap hit.
Two many warning flags have been raised with Carter. In addtion to his long term contract, I think we should stay clear of him.
I'm sure there are ways to find out, through the back channels wether Carter is worth the risk or not. Depending on the "scoop" on his off ice activities and the cost, he could be a huge steal. He's a guy that can put up 30-40 goals a year with a 5 mil cap hit...Toronto paid 2 1sts and a 2nd for a similar player with a few red flags.
