Call ups

OK with the way things are going right, would it really hurt us to call up Hayes or Morin? Frolik is invisible, Bickell is inconsisent and still isn't physical enough, Brunette is no better. If we scratch Frolik and Brunette, and plug in Morin and Hayes on the 3rd and 4th wings and actually play them more than 5 minutes a game, would we be any worse?

It's at the point where we need any help we can get and our position in the standings dictates the young guys get their chance, specifically, Hayes, Morin, Pirri and Salak. They can only improve on the recent play.

It doesnt make any sense to have guys like Brunette in the lineup night after night and contribute nothing. Put in Morin on the wing, see what this guy can do with maybe 10-12 minutes. Or keep Pirri on the 2nd line C, for more than a game. Hayes never should've been sent down either. At this point I wouldn't mind seeing Salak get a look too. I think we all remember Niemi wasn't supposed to be the starter and look what happened there.

People need to learn that Bowman isnt willing to risk sending down a 1 way guy, for fear of him being picked up. He is a passive GM.

Apparently people need to learn what one way contracts are too. I'd rather see Hayes up over Shaw or Bickell. Some more time in the AHL will help Morin's development. More importantly, he needs to work on his conditioning and foot speed.

I wouldn't mind morin or Hayes seeing some NHL time. But obviously this means Bickell has to be waived. I don't see why that's a problem though

The two people that should be called up are Pirri and Hayes, waive Brunette and Morrison and we have the space...

1. Bruno is exactly what we signed. We won't waive him.
2. Bickell is fine as #13 forward and has a year left on his minimum contract. No need to waive him.

If we call up anybody, Shaw would get sent down or Olsen when Monty returns

Hot garbage?

Hayes is already a better option. No need to keep Bickell when a better, younger, cheaper player is available.

Plus, who is honestly going to snag Bickell?

This is what I'm talking about, is Brunette going to be that big of a factor? We already know what Bickell is and I just don't see him becoming the power forward he should be for his size.

Bruno will finish the year as Hawk, on the 4th line. He is a good vet presence and you see it every game. They show him every game when he teaches guys like Jayes, Shaw and Krüger.
He is respected around the league for a reason and guys like Edzo have praise for him too. Edzo isn't that stupid as some say he is

Looks like its not a big deal anymore, I know its only one win but that was a BIG win. I was never in favor of firing the coaches or getting rid of Crawford, but we still need some D! Now that Grossman got traded who do we snag?

They must want Hayes getting more minutes in Rockford, which is understandable. Bickell would get picked up on waivers. If anything, trade him, he still has value but he is not as useless as he is made out to be. He probably does need a new team though.

People cannot say that Hayes is a better option that Bickell already. After you see him play in a handful of games...like that means anything at all. Bickell has been playing better as of late and still has a sharp wrister that can find the back of the net occasionally.

Shaw isn't really doing much at this point...if we are looking for a #2C, then why not try Pirri again? I'm not necessarily for that, as I would bump up Bolland and get Morrison back in the lineup, but Shaw hasn't done much of anything but look invisible lately.

I think we can say we'd like to see more. He showed more in a few weeks than we've ever seen from Bickell.

Operating on the blind assumption that he can't keep it up isn't fair to the kid or the team.

The odds are that he won't keep it up. But I agree, like to see more of him. Go with the hot hand. Shaw has faded, time to bring someone else up who might offer a bit more.

Good move calling Hayes up. I didn't think he should have been sent down in the first place. Might help spark things.

Shaw was sent down today and Hayes came up.

Sharp-Toews-Kane
Stalberg-Kruger-Hossa
Bickell-Bolland-Hayes
Brunette-Mayers-Scott/Frolik

Coach Q's lines

Sharp-Toews-Kane
Brunette-Kruger-Hossa
Bickell-Bolland-Hayes
Stalberg-Mayers-Scott

EDIT: I actually liked Brunette-Bolland-Hayes last time they played together

If stalberg isn't in the top 6, I'd like to see stalberg-bolland-bickell. That line actually looked good last game. I also don't want to see brunette on a line with bolland since bolland generally plays against the other team's scoring lines and brunette is so brutally slow.

I really hope Bowman is doing everything he can to get Garth Snow to send Nabokov to Chicago.
