Who is our best forward prospect?

Simple question....who is our best, who would you want to least include in a trade?

Hamill isn't a "prospect"... he's the franchise.

Soderberg. In NHL 12 he has 99 offensive awareness so he must be good.

Spooner has the most upside but I think Knight will fit the mold of a Bruin the most, Koko still has a couple years but he too like Spooner, has huge upside.

They are all extremely close in value.

From what I have seen Spooner has performed better in exhibitions than Knight. But for some reason I expect that Knight's true mettle will be shown when games count the most.

Koko is still very young and could have the highest upside of them all.

Just basing this off of what I have seen in prospect camp/training camp, and not actual games that I have seen them play, but I would say Spooner...I think he has the most diverse offensive game of that group. That being said, Koko def. has some tremendous upside and we'll see where he is when he gets to the same stage as Spooner.

I am trying to approach this as an opposing GM, the immediate reaction is to automatically run to the offensive guys of the this trio, but....it`s often the character guys that win cups for ya.

I have tried to find as much on each player as I could seeing as I haven`t had the luxury to watch any of them much at all. All 3 mentioned have serious NHL potential, Spoons/Koko seem to be the kind of prospects that will be primarily offensive weapons but something tells me, a kid like Knight is the one for me, a gut feeling that this kid will be special, but special in ways where it`s the intangeables he brings that make him valuable

OT in a way: Didn`t Burke request Knight not Colborne be part of the Kaberle trade??<<< not that this means he`s clearly the best, I hardly count Burke as a master talent evaluator despite what he`ll tell us

Depends on your definition of "best"

If you are looking for simply offense Spooner and Koko ahead of Knight, but god forbid, don't underestimate Knights offensive potential, he certainly has some. And Koko will probably end up the better offensive producer in the NHL of the three.

Take away offense and Knight is ahead in just about every other category. Some will knock his speed but it's also underestimated. We all know how well Ryan Murphy can skate and Knight beat him in a race to the puck last weekend.

And yes ODAAT, Burke tried to acquire him twice.

That said, I would trade any prospect, and that includes Hamilton, for the right player, but in terms of "try not to trade" in forwards, my order would be Knight, Koko, Spooner

was told by someone (last night as I waited for my kid to come out of hockey practice of all things) who I have immense respect for who played at a pretty high level as well as did his kid and grandchild (yes he's seen his share of hockey and knows his share of hockey greats)- and sees he said 90% of the Knights games that Jared Knight's best attribute is his passing and hockey awareness (I admit didn't know that one)

what bummed me out though is hearing several teams want Knight from Boston and Toronto still is going to try and try and try....

Leafs wanted him to play with Kadri. All I ever heard from most Leaf fans is Knight is nothing without Kadri. Well, Knights proven his worth without Kadri. Maybe it was the other way around? Just j/k, Kadri is a good player. Just trying to get back at some Leaf fans

Koko blew me away in the preseason. I think he's going to be a very special player.
