Yost. but I just said "may" be scouting chicago. According to him we've done so in the past week.
Hjalmarsson please

It blows my mind that many people seem to think it is likely. Only way I see it happen is that we get an upgrade with a younger D-man like Suter or Hjalmarsson, a player that we will be able to have here long-term

I wonder what the cost would be?

Butler, Weirchioch and a third?
Umberger has 5 years left on his contract after this season and he will turn 30 y/o.

If the price is that high, I wouldn't be that interested. Wiercioch and Butler are better young players than given credit for on this board. Butler + 3rd/Daugavins, I'd do. We need to keep Wiercioch for now

wow, I guess Nash will stay in Columbus. Ridiculous asking price, the guy makes 7.8 and is not even a PPG player

Holy **** that is steep... So basically if Sens were interested it would probably look like 9MM, Dabossta , Borocop, 1st 2012...

And I don't even know if that's what they are looking for they'd be pretty lucky to get that either way 9mm is a decent first liner, Dabossta is pretty close to NHL and caps out at a skilled 2nd line centre, Borocop is also pretty much NHL ready and our first even higher like 15-25 could be anything.

If they did something like that personally I'm not sure how I would feel. 3 of the players are not even NHL proven yet but just not sure.

I'm not saying 9mm is a game changer but no one is going to offer one so that's why I put him in there.

Of course it won't (I hope), but that's probably similar to what Columbus would be asking for. Look at the return they wanted from Philly.

Trade Gonchar.
Acquire Visnovsky.
Profit?

Kalinski was sent to the Lightning to complete the Flyers trade, now putting the Flyers below the cap.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
Price too high for Flyers(at moment) for Nash. May re-engage later. JVR,Bobrovski, Schenn or Couturier believed to be part of asking price.

If Umberger is not in play for us, I think Brassard would be a good fit. I know he plays center, but I think he would do well on LW with Turris and Alfie.

Hell lets get both

Umberger/Spezza/Michalek
Brassard/Turris/Alfie
Foligno/Smith/Neil
Greening/O'Brien/Condra
Konopka

trade 1st, Nashvilles 3rd Butler, Winchester (because Umberger wears 18 and a legit prospect like Stone or Noeson.

It was rumored we were chasing brassard earlier before we got Turris but CBJ wanted too much for Brassard.

That was before they decided to blow up and rebuild. I would understand if they decide not to move him now. He is young and he is what you ideally want when rebuilding.

My list of players that we may be able to obtain and I would like would be;

Mason Raymond
Derick Brassard
RJ Umberger

He's out for the season so he wouldn't provide any immediate benefit. Not sure if that matters to you.

Mason Raymond would be perfect to play with Spezza and Michalek, but Vancouver would probably want Neil and I'm pretty sure nobody wants Neil to be traded

Wow, that is a completely absurd price to pay for Nash. He isn't that good. And Couturier and Schenn will both play at the same level Nash has in a few years. Columbus, don't get greedy!

There is a difference between exploring options with Nash, and having to trade him. Hypothetically speaking, he is still young enough to last through their rebuild. They will have cap space too.

Nash is happy in Columbus, and until he says otherwise, Columbus should demand alot for him. It would be idiotic to trade a player like Nash right now for a "modest" package. Maybe if he demands to be out, or Columbus completely throws him under the bus like Thornton in Boston, but until then....

My understanding is that he has asked to be moved, and does not want to stay in Columbus, but everything has been kept very hush hush and respectful so that there is no media frenzy. As has been reported, Howsen doesn't go public with Nash being available unless Nash wants to go as well. Once you've crossed that bridge there is rarely any going back.

Nash will be traded either at the deadline, at the draft, or in the summer, without a doubt. But to whom?

Did you see Brassard on the wing? He is terrible there, no Brassard cannot play there. I doubt that Umby would be fit for you too. The next, we wouldnt have any interest about Butler and Winchester.

I'm all for one of Columbus' left side shutdown Beast Russian DMen: Fedor Tyutin, Nikita Nikitin or Marc Methot. Murray said he wants a forward but our pipeline is void of D not F, so I'm all for a D Man.

Its my understanding that Zach Bogosian wants to be traded to Ottawa as well. Also, I've heard "rumours" about Dan Boyle wanting to come back home.

See how easy that is? Either get a source or just stop with the BS. Its bad enough as it is already.
