According to TSN :

Dustin Brown #23 - RW/LW

Which is true

They list the "natural" position of the player first, then the 2nd position played by the player. If we take a look at Sens forwards :

Jason Spezza #19 - C
Daniel Alfredsson #11 - RW
Milan Michalek #9 - LW/RW
Erik Condra #22 - RW/LW
Colin Greening #14 - LW/C
Nick Foligno #71 - LW/C
Zack Smith #15 - C/LW
Chris Neil #25 - RW/LW
Bobby Butler #16 - RW
Kaspars Daugavins #23 - LW/RW
Jesse Winchester #18 - W/C
Zenon Konopka #28 - C/LW
Kyle Turris #7 - C
Peter Regin #13 - C/LW
Stephane Da Costa #24 - C
Jim O'Brien #42 - C/RW
Nikita Filatov # - LW/RW
Mika Zibanejad # - C/RW
Andre Petersson #20 - RW/LW
Mike Hoffman #68 - LW/C

Doesn't look TERRIBLE to me (makes me wonder about people standards and realistic expectations). The only thing I'm not really sure is Chris Neil LW (even at his 2nd position). I don't remember him playing on that side. Greening hasn't played Center in a while but you could always have him there in "extraordinary measures".
I admit, that's better than I remember it being in the past. They had Cammalleri as a center for like almost all of his tenure in Montreal, until this year.

If Brown somehow went to Ottawa he would be on the first line
Michalek-Spezza-Brown
Foligno-Turris-Alfredsson
Greening-Smith-Neil
Daugavins-O'Brien-Condra

Brown would be traded for something like Butler, DaCosta, pick or prospect

I just check that teams board for their latest GDT.

A playoff team trading their captain for non-impact prospects and an average pick...give your head a shake.

I haven't watched this guy enough to say but he was even referred to as a very good 3rd liner by one of the commentators on either TSN or Sportsnet 2 nights ago. Remind you of anyone?

As far as natural position there are exceptions (such as Michalek who seems to excel on either wing) but for forward wingers I tend to consider their shooting side as their natural position. So Brown who shoots right should be a better RW than a LW when it comes to passing and receiving passes although playing his off wing would provide an angle advantage when shooting.

Cammalleri is a natural center so that's not really a surprise.

You say he's not a first liner, which is true...

However, he'd be a good Senators first liner...

He hasn't played center since he was an LA King.

That was 4 years ago.

Wow, Clitsome on waivers? He would be an excellent pick-up! That's like trading for a 5th/depth defense man, without giving up anyone!

Clitsome is a good 2 way defender with speed and good offensive instincts, he can also handle his own zone.

I don't think he's reached his peak yet, I would love to get him. He is 5'11 but 215. Big guy for his size who can really skate.

Wow, he'd be a great pick up. Howson is an idiot for waiving this guy, he's going to be picked up and play well somewhere else. Can't see Edmonton or Tampa passing on this.

In other news: Wolski to Florida as a cap dump. Nash to Rangers seems likely. Do we still want to do Wolski for Kuba

Rangers seem to be putting out all the stops, they really want the Cup this year. Too bad the West will win it.

The west is overrated. The top east teams match up very well with the top west teams. I'd take New York or Boston in a 7 game series vs Detroit or Vancouver.

If Wolski got a 3rd round pick in return, imagine what Penner is going to get.

People talk like whoever gets Nash isn't going to have to give anything up to get him. Nash in and Del Zotto out, while an improvement is hardly "Omg we are awesome" especially in the short-term. They know what they have is working, changing things up may not improve them as much as people tend to think.

Yeah I was all for getting Penner for a late pick but if he gets a 3rd then forget about it. Quite the seller's market this year.

The points disagree with you, but I think the western teams will be so beat up by the SCF that NYR and Pitt will have a good chance at the Cup, I don't see Boston making it back. I see Ottawa going further than Boston in the playoffs, as long as Ottawa doesn't play Pitt in the first round again.

There is always a need for a depth defenseman, just ask the Canucks.

It's Sather, watch him get Nash for Dubinsky, Kreider and picks.
