Could we conceivably give Bishop enough games to keep him an RFA? If yes, I'd give a 3rd for him no sweat.

"Front runner emerging as trade destination for Riv All-Star goalie Ben Bishop is Ottawa. Talked to sources there last week. They want him."

Ben Bishop, but OTT only interested if they can sign him beyond this year, still think NASH is going to do something interesting.

Does Ottawa really need Bishop? we have Lehner and unless he is still a few years from being a NHL goalie we shouldn't worry about finding another one. Anderson will be back right?

Bishop is a solid goalie we can use now and as a backup next year pushing for starts.. Lehner is still a couple years away and Murray doesn't want to Lehner just sitting as the backup next year when he can be developing in Bingo.

Bishop has 13 career games to his name, Lehner has 9. Why is he so coveted all of a sudden?

Because he deserves his shot in the NHL.. had Elliott not gone beast mode... he'd be backing up Halak.. and his dominance of the AHL shows that.

And what is he gonna do when Anderson comes back? Back him up? Not much of a shot at the NHL if you ask me.

I'd see him in a place where he actually has a chance to be starter. Like the Leafs.

Something tells me Burke is going to lose his **** tonight, I say we put in an offer for Reimer or Gustavsson. I would rather Murray get a forward or d than go after a goalie, but I get the feeling that this trade deadline is going to be boring and uneventful.

Why in the world would we want either of those two? Crazy!

Cause it'd be hilarious if they gave up another young, talented goalie to a division rival ?

But I dunno, give Lehner a game tomorrow before making a panic move for Bishop

I think everyone knows of my bromance purely analytical and well reasoned desire to acquire Bishop.

No need to say anything other than: make it happen, B-Murr.

Pickup up Bishop for a second or third is hardly a panic move.

Given this org's complete lack of goalie depth, I think it's a good move even without an injury to Anderson. It also solves our backup goalie question for next year, assuming we can get him re-signed.

Brown's value goes uppppppppp with that hattrick tonight.

Also, Nash to NYR heating up. I think he's going there after all.

Well, we have Anderson and Lehner. Wouldn't hurt to have a bit more goalie depht. That's an asset we will keep. I would gladly spend a 3rd on it. Bishop is 6'7, maybe we could build his value in the next few years so when Lehner is really ready, we get back our investment and even make a profit.

3 goals, 1 assist, +2. But people told me he is a 2nd liner at best? I'm confused.

No it doesn't.

Short of an injury or an adjustment to a team's need (ie Ottawa and Toronto's increased need for a goalie potentially increasing all goalie value), nobody's value changes in the week leading up to the trade deadline. Lots of GMs are short sighted, but none so much that they would look at a week of work when basing their decisions.

Alright, you have scouted the last four Avs games and the last three Lake Erie Monsters(AHL affiliate) games.

Colorado have scouted your last five games.

What do you guys think is going on?
