You must have the biggest secret man crush on Smithson because that's all you ever talk about.
suter is the main blame obviously.. however if smithson clears the zone they dont have that chance. everything changes, the flow is completely different.

Sending a congratulatory message to a former Preds VP who now works for the Wings was the worst part of the night. I so wanted to gloat.

Lots of respect to your team. God do I hate them (in that unbeatable rival way), but they're just the gold standard year after year.

Different perspective from Detroit: I know you are disappointed in the finish, but the Preds are for real and will be a tough team come playoff time.

How were we like, what, 0-6 on clean breakaways?

Wings fan here. Great game and I know it's a tough loss, but don't worry about it. You guys will be a strong team heading into the playoffs and the Preds are one of the main teams we fear.

Ah well, there is a reason they hold the record for most home wins in a row. We shouldn't be ashamed to lose to the RW, but that last play is just killing me.

Now the question is how will we respond?
4 straight losses or 6 straight wins?

It was a great game. Just another highlight reel for Datsyuk, it happens.

I really don't have time for the other "classy fella" you mention though.

Very tough stretch coming up. Its good that we have 4 out of the next 5 at home. Hopefully we shake this off with some wins over some of the top teams in the conference.

What about the events that led up to Smithson clearing the zone? Why isn't it the player fault who gave that poor pass to Smithson? It's not like he had a clear shot. The same thing would have happened regardless of who was on the ice. You are simply looking for any reason to blame Smithson due to your extreme bias against him.

I already had the post typed out to respond to the "classy Wings fan", but deleted and moved on. I've really matured as a sports fan.

4 games in 2012 where the team hasn't scored 3+ goals. 13-5-2 in 2012. We just lost to the league leading team by one goal. It sucks, but it happens. On to Dallas who will be on the second game of a back to back.

no way, sir

seriously, I realize he's not the blame but in my opinion he gets some. he had ample opportunity for the clear and pulled a tootoo and failed to get it out which would have milked the final seconds but who knows.

on another note, since the all star break.. weber/suter have been good not great. I think ill survive if suter leaves. actually I know I will

I'm drinking early, drinking often.

My seats are about 4 sections over from Pete and Terry ... I might be able to yell at them if I hear "head on a swivel" too many times.

Well, you guys should know the scouting report on your own team. No go-to scorers. Your bread-and-butter has always been defense and goaltending right?

Hopefully the forwards take that performance to heart. There should be no excuses when you (at worst) go toe to toe with a team of that caliber and lose simply because you failed to capitalize on what you are given (over and over). No reason to think they won't bounce back from this slump just like all the others. Now go get a finisher Poile, and win this ****

Fair enough. He can share the blame along with Suter, Legwand, Rinne, Weber and Fisher. Pretty much everyone on the ice fell asleep after the puck got out of the zone thinking the game was over.

Thank you Willy & Erat ... 2-1 Victory for the Wings should have been AT WORST 2-2 to 3-2 for the Preds
