Looks pretty good to me. Then if PC wants to take a run at a Parise or Suter type he has the ability to move players like Tim Thomas- 5Mill Cap Hit, Nathan Hornton- 4Mill Cap Hit and Andrew Ference 2.25Mill Cap hit. All three are solid players on expiring contracts and could bring back some value.

Bruins are in a very good position and have solid prospects like Spooner, Knight and Khokhlachev knocking on the door.
I don't think Thornton will get this raise, $1.0M tops, but Paille and Campbell could get a little more. Hamilton is already signed $1.525M

Building a solid 4th line isnt easy. Most teams have a revolving door, and trouble icing a complete 4th line.

In Vancouver we are just starting to have a decent 4th line but its because Hodgson, Higgins and Booth have Been brought in so guys like Malhotra trickle down to the 4th line.

Last year we had something like 10 different 4th liners or something like that.

If you have a set 4th line you can rely on its a major help, and Greg Campbell is a guy who does a decent chunk of heavy lifting defensively.

If they care about their future they will wait a little bit till this offseason and get overpaid by hundreds of thousands of dollars.

As a Leafs fan i wish Bostons 4th line could be our third line. Having depth like the do is what makes them the best team in the league IMO. Obviously having the best Dman and goalie in the league helps also, but i'd love any one of those 4 guys for our bottom 6.

seriously? im kinda surprised hearing a bruins fan say this. im pretty sure half the team in the league would splurge the extra ~300k for him if that's the case.

I could see Thornton getting 1M, he knows that he could get more if he was on the market. Im sure he'll take a discount, but he'll get at least a mil.

Boston has at least 2 more cup runs with this roster. Eventually, they might have to let go off a couple of core players (Horton/Peverly and Seidenberg/Boychuk), but they will be good for a long time: Bergeron, Lucic, Krejci, Seguin, Marchand are all young. Given Chara's fitness level, he will likely remain a top d-man for another 5 years. Boston will never have problems signing solid UFAs to plug holes. Then there are trade deadlines.

Boston has enough of a mix of vets/mid aged/young guys to make it work for a good while at least. When Timmy is moved/retires then Rask gets his turn, Chara gets older and Dougie takes his spot, etc. Forwards are another story but Chia is one of the best, he will make it work.

If the whole 4th line gets resigned and it comes in for a total of less than 4 mil I can happily live with that.

i'd like kelly back, but out of that group you'd think he's the priority for the b's.

Paille said in his blog that he wants to stay a Bruin

I know it is pretty typical to say stuff like that but its not like he was asked if he wanted to, he just kind of said it haha

Hopefully he will be

With regards to Thornton, the thing people either don't know or forgot is that he LOVES Boston. He lives there year round in Charlestown and the city LOVES him back. I'd be willing to bet everything in my savings he doesn't go anywhere.

No chance. As much as I feel I should dislike the team, it's structured really well for the cap. They might have to let one core player go at the end of next season, perhaps not even that if Thomas coming off the books covers it.

Flyers fan coming in peace.

They should stay with their whole team. Great chemistry, great group, all deserved new contract.

I bet Boston wins it again!!
