He's nothing more than a 4th liner on a good team.
Unreal, anyone who rips on DD is an idiot. The kid worked his as off from the Q to East coast league and now into an NHL starter. We all know he isnt big but the kid has grit. A lot more grit than that loser Gomez. At this poin he is better offensively than Eller. He see the ice better. Give the kid a break. he is playing very well
like anyone will take him over Staal , Towes , etc
we are praising a filler on a crap team
GTFO man, can't even praise a young player who's doing extremely well in his first full year... if he wasn't francophon, I'm sure you'd be ready to canonized his ass...
Good for DD, certainly surpassed my expectations. Still think his ceiling is a 50-55 point guy, but it wouldn't be unlike DD to prove me wrong again. For the record, I'm aware he's on pace for 59 right now.
As for Desharnais, he did perform well last year when he had two "big towers" on his wing, albeit Pouliot and Darche are lesser players than Pacioretty and Cole. But at the same time, he does "link" with those Patches and Cole well enough to form a scoring line. His performance might indeed be a tad "inflated", but at least he isn't wrecking his lines like #11 has been doing for quite a while.

The OP never implied DD was going to win the league MVP. He never implied anyone would take him over the listed players. I think he was simply praising a player that nobody expected to do this good. He's also finding reasons to be proud instead of talking about what everybody is talking about anyways, our crappy seasons.
I don't really understand why you felt the need to post that garbage.
His stick handling, skating and quickness is excellent.
His faceoffs, defensive coverage and shot need some work.
His size needs lots of work.
Aside from his size this kid if he stays healthy is going to be a stud. I'm not saying he's going to be another St Louis but I see only pluses with DD. What a freaking steal. Thank you Carbo!!!

50-55 pts for 750k is simply amazing. I wonder what type of raise he will get in 2013.
Sorry but he is the equivalent of Stefane Lebeau in the late 80's, early 90's. On a good team, he may squeak in as the 2nd line center, at best. Do not even attempt to compare him to Toews, Stall, Lecavalier, etc. He is not in that class at all.
If we had a true #1 center, Desharnais would not have the opportunities he has now.....his numbers are truly reflective of our lack of a true #1 line.... I am happy he is there to help this year, but to try to make him in the same class as the other players you mentioned is truly idiotic....and another case of over valuation of a player....
Yeah but he plays with two studs, no one on that line can take all the credit.
I don't know. Cole and Pacioretty get plenty of credit, nobody's saying ''but he plays with Desharnais!''
I have a feeling Desharnais would produce no matter who he plays with. He was .5ppg in his first year last season playing mostly with Darche, Pyatt and others who couldn't score on an empty net. With limited PP time.
No disrespect to Desharnais. I really like him. But the guy is also playing on a line with our two top scorers.
There's a good reason why he's still playing with our top two scorers, his vision and passing are flat out sick. Take a look at Pacioretty's goal scoring history. Wasn't a goal scorer in the USHS, had double the assists then goals in the USHL, had 15 goals 24 assists in 37 games in the NCAA, was leading in Bulldogs in assists during his first pro season before the callup, struggled his first two years in the NHL/AHL (injuries impacted him for sure) then the next year goes to the AHL and is put on a line with Desharnais, who imo was the best player in the AHL at the time, Pac gets 17 goals in 27 games, now this year he's having a career year on his line and looks to be a 30+ goal scorer for us.
At the draft up to his first two pro seasons, Pacioretty had been known more for his passing then his goal scoring, then ends up on DD's wing and starts scoring goals left and right since. Not saying DD is the sole reason for Pac's goal scoring, but clearly there's a trend here. I watched Pac in the USHL, NCAA, AHL and NHL, and since he was put with DD his game has really changed and now he's playing with a ton of confidence while using his assets well. I wouldn't discount the impact DD has had on Pac.
