Edmonton - Los Angeles

RW Ales Hemsky
2nd Round Pick in 2013 (conditional if he resigns)

G Johnathan Bernier
1st Round Pick

Why Oilers do it: With Khabby hopefully on the way out and with question marks surrounding Dubnyk's abililty as a starter, the Oilers could move towards a goalie who already seems to be on the rise. Bernier fits that description. While he hasnt had a ton of NHL experience (<50GP, just above .500 for wins and loses), he looks to be a safer alternative right now if the Oilers choose not to resign Hemksy.

Why the Kings do this: Hemsky has started to come around to his own and is showing his old talent again (look towards Oilers 3-4 OT loss to Leafs). His magic and playmaking ability are very high and can be utilised on almost every team. Now since he has had significant injury troubles the past few seasons, I know why some are hesitant on giving up so much for him or even acquiring him in general, but since his surgery, he has been healthy since and take more than his share of huge hits (Kronwall's couple for one). I think he could be a valuable piece for the Kings if they want to go deep in the playoffs. And with the All Star play and emergence of Quick, Bernier's chance to be a starter in LA seems slim to none.

On a side note, I believe a deal with these two teams could happen on the 27th due just to the history between the two, the out-of-nowhere apology from Lombardi towards the Oilers for the MulletGate fiasco and that Kings have been said to have interest in Hemsky.

You couldn't get Bernier for Hemsky straight up, yet you expect the Kings to add a first? Good one

Same good be said about Bernier. His development has plateaued.

LA and Edmonton will not be doing any trades anytime soon.

Why is it that every trade from an Oilers fan is lopsided in their favor?

Wait, I answered my own question there.

Hemsky is worth a bag of pucks and a guitar pick right now.

Are you kidding? You clearly need to watch a game bud. Your clueless. Watch hemsky bring in a 1st at the deadline. Then try and say that

If LA deals Bernier, it won't be for a rental, and it will be for a goal scoring sniper.

I think it's you that needs to watch.

If he brings a first, I'd go to the board of the team that gave us that first and tell them their GM is an idiot.

Hemsky has 4 goals this year and Bernier is one of the best goalie prospects around and the Kings have groomed him for years.

Some dumb team give up a first for Hemsky but he's not worth it and he's not getting you Bernier and a first

Not trolling. Just letting the teams fans know that they are getting a glass bodied chump, and they kindly gave us a first for it.

Don't see it happening though, thankfully.

LOL

Edmonton can't wait to get rid of Hemsky, yet they as for stupid proposals like this? Ridiculous.

How about Penner for Hemsky?

Maybe by some desperate team with no regards to balsa-wood injury prone players.

But definitely not a first and one of the top young goalies in hockey for him.

i ve said it before and ill say it again the only way la trades for Hemsky is for a contional pick based on how many games he plays and a lesser prospect your choice of martinez/dewiski or someone along thoses lines. Also due to the fact la doesn't have a 2nd or 3rd round pick it would have to be in 2013 draft.

Oh man, i can't wait to bump threads like this after Hemsky is traded.
He is going to net a lot more than some of you seem to think. I see people talking about him being worth peanuts, not even worth 1st etc.
Just watch, he will at the very least return a 1st from some team and most likely a good prospect in addition.

GMs and pro scouts don't look at statlines and make a judgment on a player based on that, only HF armchair GMs think that. A lot is based on how the player is currently playing, the desperation of the buying GM and the sellers market.
Well, Hemsky has played really well in the last several games, Lombardi has to be extremely desperate to bring in some offense since their offense is unbelivably pathetic and there aren't a ton of available options on the market unless the Kings are ready to sell the farm for Nash or Carter so i think that if Hemsky goes to the Kings that Kings fans will be very surprised at how much was given for Hemsky.
