How does Vermette for Stajan sound?
We get an extra year, but I believe the better player, who at the very worst, will play like Backlund + much improved faceoff. 25 points in 57 games on pace to 42 games on a terrible Columbus team.
Stajan's contract has him paid 2.5mil until 2014, but at a cap hit of 3.5m
Vermette is 3.75 until 2015 both in salary and cap hit.
I would do it but I think it might take someone like Carson to make sure they take it (also frees up a contract spot)

anyone else over 30 for picks and prospects something this team severely lacks. Rebuild is better than stumbling along in no mans land for 2-3 years and then finding out when these aging stars are gone there's nothing there to replace them.

wrong love what this team should have been if Sutter & King hadn't run it into the ground . the window for glory has closed and if we don't move some vets the door to the future is going to slam shut. We are a team with aging stars like it or not and years of questionable drafts and trades has left the young talent lacking. You can't turn back time to the red mile but you can try to improve your chances to try and do it again. Ignore the obvious if you like but make no moves and let the vets wither away and see what you have in 2-4 yrs.

He already has one pancake related injury, he'd probably need an iron lung after a week and a half of Stampede breakfasts.

Antropov can play centre or wing, and he would give the Flames a big forward to play on the second line with Cammalleri and Comeau.
