Don't get me wrong. I'm hoping for a W, but perhaps a loss is better. Bury any playoff hopes, play without any pressure, try to find the core for 2012/2013 and show JT that he made the right decision to sign the new contract.
I cannot believe we are now hitting the biggest stretch of the season, three games in 4 days against beatable opponents and our best goalie is not playing because of the flu.
Honestly I dont even know if I believe that...Snow is probably just holding him out to trade him for...yes, you guessed it...a draft pick.
For once he should be trying to add to the team, not subtract from it. If we were to win the next three and four of the next five (again, with only the Rags game as one we should be EXPECTED to lose), there is a good chance we go into the trade deadline not only 3-4 points out of 8th with 19 games to go, but probably like 4-5 points out of 7th or even 6th.
I swear if we trade PAP and Nabby and we do not get AT LEAST first round picks back, there is no way I am going to believe again that this team wants to win with that idiot Snow at the helm.

Remember Nabokov has all the power not Snow.
I will never understand why fans think up things to worry about in their own heads then get mad at the teams for what they think up. I know it's all fans who do it but wow Islanders fans are really big examples of this.

Kevin Poulin will start for the Isles tonight against Carolina. Steve Staios returns to lineup; Ty Wishart and Tim Wallace will be healthy scratches.

I'm beginning to get the sense that Snow doesn't want to trade Nabby and wants to trade Montoya. My guess is that he is not playing because he has been sub par as of late and Snow doesn't want his value to go any lower

I have a conspiracy theory that Montoya's lack of playing time this season has a lot to do with contract negotiations. They do not want to pony up and give him a long term commitment. I understand that Nabakov's play gives them no reason to start Monty consistently but the fact that Poulin has twice gotten the call over him makes me scratch my head.
I believe they will try to resign Nabby, if that falls through, they will lock up Montoya on back-up money, a cheap 2-3 year deal. Then let him battle out #1 with Poulin and Nilsson next season.
annnyways, LET'S GET THIS ONE!! We are at the stage where every win is HUGE and every loss is crippling. Without a 4-5 game winning streak real soon, we are dead in the water.

replace "real soon" with "now" and you have the right idea. once february's over, the schedule is pretty tough.
Law has stepped his game up ever since he lost that GDT tournament. Coincidence?
he didn't lose, the others just got more votes, big difference. Besides, Law always steps up his game down the stretch, in important games. Sets the tone for the team.
He's trying to motivate, the team's not responding.
