When a player goes on Injured Reserve, they're out for at least 7 days, beginning with the date of the injury, so it's interesting that this move is being done today. Might the Preds be opening a roster spot for a callup from Milwaukee, or could a trade be in the works? Stay tuned...
Actually, I think he probably got injured by reaves in the Blues game. While it looked like McG got in a lot of punches most of them were to reaves helmet whereas reaves got in a couple of forearm shots that caused Mcgs eye to swell and I think he had a cut.

But there's enough roster space to add 2 players, and players are paid their full salary on IR, if he was sent to the AHL he'd be paid less since he's on a 2-way. I think he's genuinely injured but at least it's just IR and not LTIR.

I saw a picture of the cut around his eye. A regular player could probably play with it, but a fighter couldn't fight with it. I think he might be claimed off waivers if we sent him down. No, I don't have a link to the picture.

True, forgot about that, but is this the last we see of McGrattan in a Preds Uniform? I sure hope not, it's not like the team plays any better without him either.

depends on how long he is out.
you would expect him to be a permascratch come the playoffs, but if he's able to play he will probably see some action down the stretch. that said i don't think he'll be activated before the deadline... that gives us some wiggle room to add a player acquired for picks/prospects.
