Two more mini Doubles are complete. I had to spend almost 30M to get the accessories started

I'm starting to think about TF15...

Ooh. Good luck with that. I've pretty much given up on the LC. I started my second camp tonight and I sent Denno & Bamburg this time. Had I won today, I probably keep them out, but there's no point now.

Now would be a good time to point out that we're currently ranked 5th in the world. Also Arnold Monroe is tied for the most goals in the finals, but would win the tiebreaker currently because he has an assist (whereas the other player does not).
There's a couple of people asking for votes in the NT thread. I almost replied with 'Vote for me. I'll make Obryantj my assistant and let him run the team!' You've done an amazing job The Canadians, who I thought had a better team and a better more supportive community, have **** the bed

That number plus each staff member's salary until their deadline equals 43,013,106. He also paid 1,737,372 for the staff members. ...ease of computation), those extra days resulted in 72,290,180 worth of salary.

Taking those 5 staff members out of the equation takes off about 29.5M in salaries on their current contracts and transfer fees.
Thanks for doing that. I've wanted to do it since I noticed his dealings. I've come so close several times. But like I said, I really don't want to think about that team too much. When calculating their current salaries, did you use their current attributes or what their attributes might have been when they renewed?

I still say he's making a good profit on staff sales. He has to know the numbers. There's no way you can continue to do this if there's even a slight chance you're not making a profit. Right? He'd have to be a fool...

They do have the same system for players and staff members.

Or did you mean a tax on having an excessive amount of staff members in your club? Now that I've re-read your post, I think that's what you meant.
I definitely typed that wrong. You're correct. They should have had a tax on number of staff employed and let the sales tax keep rising past 50% on staff and players. Why on Earth would they leave such a huge door open? It's something that begs to be abused.

Could you also ask to keep new managers off the staff market for longer than 11 days. My first thought was a month, but that might be too long? There's been several new managers in America who have been caught off guard and almost lost their teams when they realized that staff salaries are daily. I had to do all kinds of crazy stuff to help one of them keep his team. That's just the guys who have kept playing and decided to post about it. I'm sure there's more who don't post about their misfortunes and even more who just quit when they realize they've fubared their team.

Keep new teams off the staff market and when they are finally allowed on it, make them pass some sort of tutorial first. You've got to make them understand the perils of owning good staff.

I believe I've seen that suggested before, perhaps it'll be noticed more in an admin forum or through some other type of communication that you have with the PPM team.

I'm holding off on 2 snack bars and 2 fan shops in my mini-double. It looks like I'll need the cash to get HR-13 started in 3 weeks (depending on sponsorship offers).

6 of next season's USA I.1 teams have TF-14 and tomorrow the Pookinators will make that 7. 4 more teams have between 37 and 96 days until they'll have TF-14. So you'll be above average for the next 3 months, regardless of if you start TF-15 now or later. In fact, the only facility that you're under the league average in is the Education Center. I have 92 days left until TF-15, so at least a 27 days lead in that regard.

What else are you considering besides TF-15?

I thought about declaring myself for the Canadian position (almost as a joke), but I really don't have a good idea of how much free time I'll have in a month. I might be working 60-70 hours a week or I might be surfing the internet for jobs.

I wouldn't mind filling a consultant or potentially assistant role if the new manager would like some help.

There's a lot of ways to look into his profit. One thing that's rarely brought up is the inflation factor. The opportunity cost of his investments should be considered as well and those vary from team to team.

It's a lot harder to measure his profit when he's getting some use out of some of the staff members as well. I'll try to evaluate those players separately as well as the whole group together. I do expect the staff market to start dying out soon, similar to hockey.

In BatRacer there's no financial and infrastructural element like in PPM, everything restarts when you join a new season. Depending on which kind of season it is, everyone either starts with different cars or the same types of cars. Then each racer picks a nature that will make him better a certain parts of the game e.g. intelligent will make him gain more knowledge about set-ups from test runs and pole king giving you faster time in qualifying. Now the player can set tactics for races and qualifying, just like PPM, tactics of course have a huge thing to say in how well you do in races.

A typical racing "weekend" in BatRacer, I'll use F1 as an example, consists of four parts. First is the testing where you do a number of test runs where you will find out more about what setup is the optimal. The more risks you take on the course the more you will know, but you risk making mistakes and losing test laps. If you are in a team like in F1, you and your teammates will help each other finding the optimal setup. After the first testing in the qualifying, which is classified as a race in the sense that 'races' happen at a given time with 24 hour intervals, giving players 24 hours to complete their test runs. After the qualifying you are again allowed to test in case you still haven't found the optimal setup. Then comes the race, it's being showed on a lap-by-lap basis, but you can jump between laps, and also just jump right the end if just want to know the result, which I did a lot when i got bored with the game at the end. There's a race rank on the right showing positions and times between cars etc. On the left is a table that tells what has happened on the latest lap, overtakings, attempted overtakings, crashes, pitstops etc.

It's been a long time since I played it, so somethings might have chanced since then, but I believe the overall premise of the game is still the same.

I hope this is what you were looking for.

Yes. I've suggested it several times. vlady doesn't seem to think it's a problem

It's either that or the new Doubles. I'm thinking maybe I could take out a max loan to get TF15 started in the next few weeks, and then just max out the current mini Doubles instead of building new ones. It would cost a bit more (43.5M vs 38 for new Double), but it only takes 46 days vs 70 for new Doubles. So I could add seats later in the season. That would mean I can only add 12,000 this season instead of the planned 14-20,000.

As an added bonus, it would stop me from buying any expensive players

I would love to just ask him about his finances. I'm just worried that I'd call him a ruiner to his face. I'd feel bad about that.

If they ask why, just tell them how easy it is to pick up really expensive staff. The newbs just don't understand that spending 10K on a Physician is going to cost them five million dollars in the next 50 days.

I was trying to explain to one newb how expensive they are and how much it costs to fire/keep/sell the staff he just bought. I asked about their salaries and if he could afford to fire them. Not saying he should, just asking if he could afford it. He fired them before he replied and was 10M in debt. He thought the 'Contract' part was how much they were paid. Completely missed the salary. He was already a ProPacker and was talking about abandoning his team. I helped him get some games with Leggmann and I (shhh!) bought one of his players for 5M to get him out of his hole. He's going to buy him back whenever he can afford it. It's a very good player

Had a 5* GS and 5* media deal in soccer this past season. Signed a 5* GS (down 1.5M/week) and a 5* MS (up 0.5M/week) for this season. Down 1M/week in total. But the good news is.

The stadium looks sick! Now I want to build some Doubles

I thought you were going to wait until tomorrow's game to see the offers? Hell, now I'm going to look to.

...

My VIP offer is 1* (down from 2), but 40k higher. Rejected.
Current Media is 4* 3.5M. New offer is only 2* but worth 5.0M. Rejected.
Current General is 5* 13.3M. New offer is 2* worth the same 13.3M. Rejected.

Boo! Totals a bit over 18.5M per week. Not too bad. I wish I had gotten something that I could accept though

That stadium is awesome. A little jealous over here.

My sponsor offers were expectantly similar to last seasons offers.

Accepted a 4* General, replaced a 5* from last season, with a 50 thousand a week raise
9.7 Million per week

Got a 3* Media, haven't decided yet about it
2.57M per week, last seasons was 2.49M per week

VIP lounge accepted both, total of 240 thousand per week

So around 12.5 Million per week, not good enough at all to keep up with the big boys. Need a strong showing a NC next year to get myself back into a international tournament, I've had some really bad runs since I came in 3rd back in season 2.

They replied. They have something in mind to correct this. It's been delayed in its deployment. I'll state what that is if/when I get the green light to disclose it.

Edit: They are going to give a warning message when staff salaries are above a certain %ge of your weekly sponsor value. But I was told to emphasise that this is an add-on that will come in time. As in... don't expect it anytime soon.

Accepted two 5* offers for a total of $6.3M per week.

Small potatoes compared to you guys, but its a +$3M/wk improvement over last year. Moving up from III.2 to II.1 in USA after winning my league this season.

It's taken a fair amount of willpower to wait this long, now I need to wait another hour or so. Luckily I was busy all morning and haven't had time to think about it as much.

I was able to do some research on Belgium and set tactics and a lineup last night, then check the lineup this morning for injuries. It was a great match that was decided on a late penalty kick. It's a bit disappointing for our run to be over, but we did well and I think we exceeded most people's expectations. Hopefully the next NT manager can get us over the hump and take us a few positions up in the world rankings.

When I do check my sponsorship offers, I'll update this post with some of that information.

Edit: Sponsorship Offers

VIP: 3*, 60,000/week increase rejected
Media: 3*, 3.2M/week increase, rejected
General: 5*, 6M/week increase, accepted

It's nice to get the general sponsorship out of the way early and to see the large increases across the board.

You're not running again? Canada is in turmoil. The glorious slavko and skipman didn't even get us out of the group stage against several weak opponents. We'll see whose head is served on a platter next...

I decided a month or two ago not to run for re-election. There's a time commitment that I may not be comfortable with in the future as well as my personal feeling that other managers should have to opportunity to manage the NT.

I can respect that. I feel the same way. The next few months (until August at least) will be very busy as I finish my MSc thesis. After that I could be moving across the continent for work. Then back. Then there. Then back etc. May be best to worry about my own teams right now. Before I can do that though I have to shake the two teams I'm sitting for.

2* VIP for 275K was rejected.
2* Media for 5.2M was rejected.
4* General for 14.6M is accepted.

So I'll be making just over 20M per week.

I'm back on the adding seats bandwagon. In order to build TF15, I would have to take out a max loan. That would mean paying 4.5M per week. That's just too much.

1* General Sponsorship rejected. It was around 1.5m more than last seasons accepted offer.

4* VIP box accepted - Over twice as much as last season pw.

5* Media sponsor Accepted - 2.1m more than last season.

~

Hoping for a 5* General offer tomorrow which will see me take in about 25m pw

Also have 2 10,000 Double-floors building at the moment which will take the Ravens Stadium capacity up to 50,000 seats in 95 days time.

I signed a 4* media deal today which gives me about a 3.5M/week increase over last season's offer. My VIP was a 1* that was 17K/week less then the first day's 3* offer. I'll also complete my second VIP lounge tonight, so it'll be interesting to see when I'm given the automatic sponsorship deal that you get when you complete them. If its before the VIP sponsorship offers (which occur later than the other sponsorship offers), then I'll get the option to accept a deal rather than to have to take whatever offer is made to me Saturday night. The amount of the VIPs aren't going to drastically change my finances though and I seriously doubt the difference between the biggest deal and the smallest deal for each VIP is more than 50K/week.

That's not bad at all. Especially considering your finishing position in the league. I personally think that most people on PPM overplay the revenue card and almost ignore the cost card. So, I suppose it depends on what your weekly expenses come up to.

I'm still looking to add seats this season, but probably not as many as I would ideally. It definitely will not be a canucks357-level upgrade. I'm looking to have some extra cash near the end of next season, so perhaps I'll be able to make some major improvements after next season's sponsorship offers.

Weighing the loan vs. TF-15 comes down to a lot of things that are individual characteristics of your team. That includes: financial situation (net weekly funds), players' qualities (the higher the qualities, the bigger the training increase) and your coaches. I made the decision to take out a loan to start TF-15, but that doesn't mean its what is best for your team.

Quote:
Yuck. I was hoping for more.
I think we all hoped for more. I have a spreadsheet with a formula that I use to estimate general sponsorship offers, this season it was off by about 125k/week. It definitely has some flaws that I need to fix before I release it, but I'll take that level of accuracy for my own team. My media deal was higher than I anticipated so perhaps I just focus more of my funds towards upgrading my stadium.

Quote:
Ugh. Nice.Maybe you can be The Ruiner
I would like to think that my finances are fairly lean in both sports, but could be leaner in soccer. However, the increases from my general and media deals and the addition of another VIP deal are greater than my current weekly expenses. So I'll be netting the entirety of my sponsorship deals from last season as well as the small increase in my current VIP deal. In addition to that, I'll also receive cash from ticket and souvenir sales. It's not quite Leggman in hockey, but as far as Sponsorship Deals minus weekly expenses, I'm pretty close to the ballpark. Feel free to send me a message if you want to know the details.

The counterargument is that FC Corona started some construction after his player sales (which I had forgot about) went through the other day. He now has TF-15 and SA-15 under construction and has spent about 1.5B on facilities. He still has some money as well and I'd guess he's waiting to sign a sponsorship deal before upgrading his stadium or he's waiting on his staff transfers to see if he can build EC-14.

I better finish higher this season. It's so annoying that my team, which I think is pretty good, can't get over the hump. I'm really going to try to play more conservative this season. Try to keep some energy. Actually try to get my better players over 30 games played. Matthew Cline was the only player on the team with more than 26 games played. And he's like 5th on the defensive depth chart. I like to aim for around 35 games for my top player. Of course the CWC rightfully took precedence over the league this season. Thank god I won that trophy or I would have been screwed

Yeah. I said I was all in on the seats again, but but BUT! I do have high quality players. They would benefit. I can't afford to fall much further behind. GRRR.

My media deal was higher than I anticipated so perhaps I just focus more of my funds towards upgrading my stadium.
And then you say this

I might have to sell some of my older guys sooner than I want to just to keep up. I could probably get a decent chunk of change for my older players with less than perfect Qs. The problem is the younger players aren't ready to take their spot yet. Guys like Seneca Edmond(203Goal 553or), Gus Adams (nice CM 646or), Clemente Baggett (backup SM/CM 575or), Kyle Durkee (187off 100shot about to hit 600or) might bring in close to 100M...It's tempting. I'd also love to sell Rekila or Cline, but that would leave me very thin on the back end. I can't do that until I add some dmen that I would want to play.

I've gone out of my way to keep my expenses in check in soccer. I'm under 10M per week. Staff actually makes less than players right now I'm sure that'll change soon though.

I finally did what I told Obryantj more teams should do against the Force. Very High and 3 lines. The result? A 3-2 OT WIN!

I'm not going to go through all of Leggmann's games, but most in the last month played him on VL. There's a few who drop a Low in there, maybe a Normal, and one team went to High in the 3rd, but that was after playing VL in the first. So that game was over. Not even the top teams like the High Headerz, Africville or Psychos try to win. The only other one that tried to win was the REDWINGS, and they won 5-3.

You wanna hear some ********? He swept the players of the game. Buckley is first star. All 3 of my goals were at even strength, he scored a PPG. Team Ratings are 97 to 187. He allowed 3 goals on 31 shots. Trusis allowed 2 on 37. And won. In Bombsville. That game is retarded. Trusis better be goalie of the damn day.

I BEAT THE MOTHER FLIPPING FORCE!

I had 10 players at 30 or more matches played last season, with the 11th at 29 games. In fact, Bragg and Metz played every minute of every match until I clinched the league. I saved energy by playing my B-team in all of the NC matches and a couple of the ChL matches. I basically concentrated on the league.

It has to be nice to have that trophy and to be able to check that box on your list. Not many teams get a chance to win an international cup in either sport.

I think I'll be selling some higher OR players as well as some other players near the end of the season. I considered selling both Cheney and Metz this offseason, but decided to keep them around. Metz (CM, 711 OR) is likely to go next season if I can purchase or develop another CM to take his place or if my team drops too much in the final standings. I'll probably end up holding onto some of the players I'm considering selling, mainly because if they're young enough with good enough qualities then TF-15 should help increase their value. The flip side is I need to make sure they have enough experience for their age to remain as attractive options on the market.

I'm just under 10M a week as well, but I'm only at 30 player vs. your 33. If I were to add another player, I'd be over 10M a week (due to the fee for having more than 30 players).

Congrats. I hope the 2 points in the standings was worth playing VH, although I'm assuming that you consider beating the Force to be worth it.

My hockey team, although it hasn't gotten as much attention as my soccer team lately, is looking pretty good. They've currently made it up to 108 OTS and have a pretty good amount of energy left in the tank. I'm getting more and more confident that I can win the II.4 playoffs and not have to play a promotion/relegation series. Whether I promote or not, I plan to put some cash towards my stadium at the beginning of next season. I should be in a position to sell players at the end of the season as well and I haven't identified any spots on the roster that need to be upgraded enough to worry about bringing a player in from the market.

5* Media deal worth 5.7M

With the two VIP lounges that will be finished in 3-4 weeks, I'll be making closer to 21M per week.

Yeah. I thought I blew my chance when I finished in 3rd in the ChL back in season 3. So happy I got another shot And I'm really going to try to let my best players play this season, but if things start off as bad as this season, then I'll focus on the NC/CWC again.

I almost mentioned this in my last post. My damn SA keeps kicking out these decent Mids. It's insane. I think I have 17-18 of them on the team. They're not all great, but the only ones with AQs below 70 are current starters/top backups. Meanwhile I only have 7 dmen on the team, and I had to buy 4 of them! It's ridiculous. I should be able to sell at least 5 of them next season.

VH and only 3 lines

Damn straight it was worth it

If more people went after him, hockey in America wouldn't suck. It's ridiculous that most of the teams just lay down for him. He doesn't even have to try anymore. VL and Offensive every game I checked. Everyone just accepts defeat, so he gains massive OTR each season and then he gets into the Intl Cups with damn near max energy. Even more OTR. That **** ain't gonna work.

And the energy doesn't matter. I used it where I needed to all season. Five games to go. I'll beat a dead team, but don't have much chance against the other four. All of my players will finish with more than 75 energy. I don't care if I survive or relegate. Pride wants me to stay up, but the brain says it's pointless. Whatever happens happens.

I signed my both VIP offers this morning. For those who are interested, I completed one of the VIP lounges last night. I was giving an automatic sponsor and then a sponsorship offer shortly after that. My 10,000 DFM offer was 3* at 311,130/week and my 4,000 DRM offer was 5* at 327,622/week. Thus, it seems that level of the stand refers only to the type of stand (as expected).

Overall, I'll be making just over 10M more per week in sponsorship deals. That may be put me as the top team in North America in sponsorship deals.

On my A-team and B-team (top 22 players, or so), I've bought 5 defenders, 3 midfielders and 2 forwards. So I'm in a fairly similar situation (at least on the defenders)

On the current top teams list (by OTS) in the USA, I can see the top 16 teams. The teams in 12th through 16th are all currently in division II, with 3 of those 5 teams being in II.3. I suppose my point is that next season's I.1 may be a bit tougher than this season's I.1. Of course, the OTS are affected by energy and there might be stronger teams in I.1 with lower energy (potentially yours). Hopefully, I'll be in I.1 next season and I'll be able to let you know about that. I just did a quick count and 9 division II teams currently have an OTS of 100 or greater and 13 division I teams meet the same criteria.
