He's not to young. Euro player can jump in the AHL when they want to. A canadian player can't play in the AHL till he's 20. If he sign a AHL contract, Halak could play for the Dogs but it won't happen...
The Dogs were played to both ends of the spectrum last night. In the 1st period they looked like the Dogs of two years ago. They were hitting everything in sight, making tape to tape passes, and skating really well. Then the Phantoms scored in the 2nd period, and they played some of the most uninspired hockey I've ever seen. Only two guys played 60 minutes, that being Plekanec and Daley. These two guys care no matter what, like they all should.
Any debate about who the starting goaltender is on this team should be put to rest after last night's game. He is extremely slow in the net, and because of that has terrible positioning. He let in two very soft goals, I hope to see Danis in the nets tonight and tomorrow.
Higgins played a really flat game last night. He showed no drive whatsoever, and wasn't at all strong on the puck. Hopefully he picks up his game soon, cause the Dogs aren't going to succeed without Higgins playing well.
I've tried to give Hainsey a break, and after the 1st period I thought maybe he had turned the corner. He was using his size, and made a couple good rushes. But after that, the defensive errors started to come. He was getting beat to the outside, and didn't seem to have any success on the ice.
Dan Focht is not the answer on defence. He really needs to work on his skating, he got beat quite a few times last night. He layed quite a few good hits last night, but took some costly penalties, which the Dogs just can't afford.
Some of the forwards played decent games, but nothing to get excited about, like Morgan, Lambert, and Thinel, who all seemed to be playing a little better than they had been. Hopefully the team can turn it around against a couple former dogs, Beauchemin and Svitov tonight in Syracuse.
Sounds to me they had a bad game all round..
Danis will win the next two games this weekend. It sucks when a goaltender lets softies in, because it sounds to me it brought the whole team down and played like crapp!!
