Deal Spooner and a #1 for Carter this deadline....then in the summer deal Thomas to Chicago for their #1, Beach and Clendening...sign Gaustad 3 years, 8.4 mil, put Savard on LTIR...

12-13 Bruins....

Marchand-Bergeron-Seguin- 11.05mil
Lucic-DK-Horton- 13.25 mil
Peverley-Gaustad-J.Carter- 10.35 mil
Beach-Campbell-Thornton- 3.77 mil

Chara-Boychuk-10.37 mil
Seidenberg-(4 million dollar defenseman)- 7.25
Ference-McQuaid- 3.85 mil

Rask-Khudobin- 3.3875 mil

Following summer let Horton walk, divide his 4 mil up for raises for Lucic and Marchand (Seguin should be at 3.5 as is already)..elevate Cater to Horton's spot and Caron/Knight to the 3rd line.

Under the cap...see how easy? HAHA

Of course this would put us in cap hell, but that's not my problem!

If you're getting Carter you best believe one of Lucic/Horton is getting bumped down to the third. No way you bring him in to play with anyone other than Krejci.

I wish we could get an update on Horton to know whether they even expect him back this year. It would make speculating easier.

Agreed 100%. Otherwise, that lineup is downright scary with the only question mark being Khudobin. Hopefully Rask will be able to play effectively for 65 games a year.

Where can I see/read about the Hotstove interview with GM Chiarelli?

I went to the CBC web site but the most recent Hotstove there is February 11.

They wouldn't for that very reason. Teams could take advantage of desperation.

With his concussion, the Bruins can't take any chances, He could comeback and be a beast or being hit and gone again but, this time, for the year. The Bruins need an upgrade...

Kyle Beach Lou? The same Kyle Beach that called Lucic a hunchback in junior and who subsequently got his ass kicked by Milan?

Yeah, trading for him isn't happening brother.

Chiarelli and Neely both said in radio interviews this week that they expect him back.

Carter cost # 8 pick and young good winger, so he will cost at least one of Knight/Spooner/Koko plus Caron and a 1st.

Deals aren't made in a vacuum. Carter wants out and he's had a bad year. His value is "uncomfortably low" right now.

If the Bruins got Carter I would be interested in seeing these forward line combos (at least for the rest of this season if not next as well)

Lucic-DK-Horton
Pevs-Seguin-Carter
Marchand-Bergeron-Kelly
Pallie-Campbel-Thorton

True. Carter is one of the better pure goal scorers in the league, and his cap hit is very friendly (5.33 million or w/e), so that I like. Consistent 30 goal scorer and decent playoff resume.

I'd offer a 1st, Caron, another prospect like Spooner/Knight and Pouliot or something.

Don't know how I feel about Carter. Don't want him sleeping with team mates' wives.

Consequently it would behoove Columbus to deal him over the summer.

I don't know who's going to want to take on that long a contract, though (with a NTC).

The "talent" value for Carter might be great at the moment (at least if the talks about a low 1st and something like Spooner/Knight/Koko + maybe Caron are accurate), but first of all, you can't like the remaining length of Carters contract and secondly his value outside of the ice is horrible. Guy doesn't scream "great clubhouse guy" to me. Don't know if I want that.

Maybe the Leafs should pull the trigger, they are in the need of a C between Kessel and Lupul. But a playmaking C would be better for them.

Carter doesn't have a NTC I don't think Columbus picked it up.

He didn't have one when he was traded, but IIRC he has one that's supposed to kick in next year. I could be misremembering, though.

Well talk about a major upgrade over Pouliot! No rest for the opposition.
