It can't be worse than some of the CHL broadcasts, trying to watch a Owen Sound home game can be painfull on the eyes

In case of a lockout;

Binghamton could land Cowen (And Silfverberg)

Just got back from a trip to NYC & stopped on the way back in Binghamton for dinner at the Crackelbarrel off HYW 81. If there is a lockout I think I will try & make it down to Binghamton for a few games. All the best for this coming season.

Downtown, where The Arena is, is not far from that restaurant..

It's pretty easy navigating from the city, 17W to Bingo, 81N right up to the border

Hey guys, dumb question but why wouldn't Karlsson be eligible to play in Binghamton? He is still on his ELC next year and should not have to clear waivers? Granted he may not want to play here in Bingo but if he chose to ala Spezza during the last lockout i don't see why they would not let him

I don't think he is still on his ELC as of this season. Even still I would wager a guess that he is way over the waiver eligible limit.

However, if he does, I'll gladly cream my pants...

The year that just went by was his 3rd and final on his ELC. He had his rookie year where he played in Bingo for approximately 12 games and joined us for the rest of the season/playoffs, his sophmore year where he played most the season and finished with approximately 45 points, and the past year where he went superhuman

hen does the Binghamton camp start up?

Has Richardson (Murray) filled out the staff or do we expect the Sens assistants to show up for part of the year as "consultants".

In the event of a lockout, do we expect to Bishop to be sent down despite his 1 way contract? Is he still eligible for waiver exemption? Do waivers count in the event of a lock out?

Also, something on my mind, if we have a lockout, do players still get paid.

Good God Ski 40 yrs we have had Hockey in Binghamton....... Seems like yesterday to me that Roddy & Randy ECT were on the ice. Those 1st four years of Hockey with the Dusters in the NAHL were great to watch, games were exciting & I loved all the fights + we had the small ice back then................

Back then I had a Hell of a lot more pep.................... ....

I hope they wear the old Duster uniforms this season always loved them.......................

Hey Zeke, hope all is well..

Good ole Bloomfield and MacGregor, ya that was some fun years back then..sprinkle in a little Jacquith, Stewart, and Holland in net..

A little tidbit you'll enjoy Zeke, I was at this game;

The Dusters played in the NAHL, which served as the inspiration for the movie Slap Shot, which includes a "Broome County" team. One scene in the film was specifically drawn from events that occurred in Binghamton. In the movie, the Hanson brothers wear black-rimmed, Coke-bottle eyeglasses, and in one game, get into a fight immediately after the opening faceoff. In reality, both Jeff and Steve Carlson wore similar glasses, and did get into a long fight right after an opening faceoff. Coach Dick Roberge told the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat, "We got into Binghamton about two or three weeks before the playoffs. In the team warmup, we're out there and all the Binghamton players came out with the plastic glasses and big noses, every one of them, poking fun at the Carlson brothers. We went back in the dressing room and the boys said, 'Coach, as soon as that puck is dropped, we're pairing up.' We had one heckuva fight. They went about 30 minutes until everyone got tired. We met them again in the finals (1974–75) and beat them four straight."

Will it be a surprise? I assume it's Cowen and that's it from Ottawa's roster.

How is anyone curious to see which players will be sent down? It's Cowen, Zibanejad, Silfverberg, Stone, all those prospects on ELC's/two-ways. No surprises at all. Don't know what you're expecting.

Well Phoenix sent OEL, Rundblad & Gormley to Portland. I'd say that has the makings of a rather mobile defense core.

Are there plans for anybody to be covering the team this season now that Joy Lindsay is gone? That would probably be the place to get that info - the journalists in Ottawa can't even cover the NHL club adequately let alone the minor league affiliate.

If the lockout proceeds into the regular season, I'd like to stream AHL Bingo games online, if possible. Does the AHL have anything equivalent in quality to NHL's GameCenter?
