Can the cap in a major sport really be rolled back? I believe it would be a first.

I dont see ltir ever going away. I don't see savard coming back. If he did it would pose a challenge.

I see the cap being 64 next year. I just can't imagine it dropping. I see Thomas leaving this summer. Horton next unless he's willing to play cheap. Not good enough not healthy enough in my mind for even 4.

Take seguin at a 10x5.5.

I think they'll manage it next season and still be competitive. Three season is an issue.

I don't like trading players who have just signed. Though krejci is the logical man out.

If anyone gets squeezed its gOing to be the midline vet. I imagine this is a very large concern for the nhlpa.

If Thomas, Horton, and/or Krecji are traded in the offseason, we can make Devils and Predators pay for letting Suter and Parise reach free agency.

if you can implement a cap in a non-cap sport you can definitely lower it

With the new contract's of Boychuck, Peverley, Kreijci and upcoming contract's of Rask, Seguin, Lucic it's quite sure that we don't need Horton after his contract has expired. He is vulnerable so we Bruins won't need another Savard. He is also very easy to go nuts. He has heavy cap (4milj) and especially Seguins contract will be in 5-7 milj around. Lucic is propably around 5. So assuming Horton is not gonna be Bruin 2013 post-season, if even make it so far.
