Fruit bats are awesome and they wouldn't hurt a fly.

Their main diet consists of figs - I don't understand all the "kill it with fire" comments.

BUMP
I love these types of things, good reads. Anyways I just watched one of my favourite Unsolved Mysteries episodes so I figured I'd post it.

Dude is a normal construction worker in the Vancouver area, but he suddenly started to grow more paranoid. He withdraws his savings, and tries to cross the US border but is turned away several times. He then quits his job and buys a plane ticket to Germany, but the night before he was going to leave turns up at a friends house begging her to drive him across the border since someone was trying to kill him. The next day he turned in his plane ticket and rented a car and drove across the US border. He then bought a one way ticket to Washington, DC (even though a 2 way was cheaper). He then rented a car in DC and drove hundreds of miles back west to Knoxville, TN. After misplacing his car key he is forced to check into a hotel there. He leaves the hotel though right after and is found the next morning beaten to death and his clothes pulled off. Thousands of dollars worths of US, CDN and German $ is scattered around him, plus his missing key.

Self-fullfilling prophecy of a person suffering some sort of mental distress or some sort of greater conspiracy? Or just weird coincidence that a guy who thinks someone's trying to kill him happens to get murdered a couple of day later?

Thinking about watching the Netflix documentary about this called Eyes of Mothman.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moth_Man

Here's the statue that the town erected in memory of the events:

Reminds me of a Power Rangers or old Godzilla villain.

What is so creepy afterwards? I read it, but couldn't find anything really weird.

She died after giving birth to a baby with a similar condition, both were mummified, dressed, mounted and continued to be toured and exhibited in their deceased state. Then her widowed husband found a woman with a similar condition to tour with them, he later went insane. Later still mummified baby was eaten by rats.

It was probably posted and unfortunately I don't remember the name, but there was a small town in Vermont (Virginia ?) when the States was first being colonized. Maybe around 300, or so towns people.

Another boat arrives. They go to the town and there's no one there. There's no sign of attack, there's nothing "disturbed". It's left to look as if people just got up and "walked" away.
