Trust me, the Bruins have been struggling lately and will most likely have a hard time scoring 2 goals.

Koivu is out for the Wild, per strib writer Michael Russo.

Michael Russo @Russostrib
Zidlicky returns to lineup; Koivu out; No discipline for Clutterbuck; Peters hearing at 1 p.m. #mnwild

I'm originally from Minnesota and always look forward to seeing the hometown Wild but yeah, it's been a painful year for Wild fans. I looked up one day to see them right at the top of the West, then the next they were 8 points shy of the 3rd overall pick. What a mess. Injuries have decimated that team....and they cannot score for the life of them.

if the Bruins defense manages to give up more than two goals to this team, then the alarm better sound for Chia...because that really shouldn't happen against Minnesota.

"Peggy....Peggy...."

I'll always chuckle a bit at this commercial.

Timmy today? I'd think so.

Just checked out Minnesota's GDT....another creative one. Another chuckle.

It's funny I just read the on the Bruins site, Coach J using enthusiasm as a factor to their losing ways of late, and the players agreeing cause that's what I see also. No spunk in their game, no sense of urgency, and we all know they can play hockey so...

Every team goes through that in an 82 game season, I just hope our team can get hungry enough again come playoff time to win it all.

I'd expect a 3-2 OT win. I think that they'll come out and get up 2 goals and then let their foot off the pedal and allow Minnesota to get back into the game. They probably won't hit and will just go through the motions and it will be a boring game. After the exciting cup run and the great stretch of play they had for two months, this win one, lose one stretch is frustrating to watch and boring to follow.

There are not very many "gimmies" in the capped parity NHL. But this is definitively one of them. The Wild are no good right now. And that is being polite.

If the Bruins do not easily bank 2 points this afternoon, the intensive-care emergency siren will be sounded half way across the country in Boston.

Yeah, I think we'll see that commerical a lot this afternoon.

As for Timmeh, he can be better, and I also think he's seeing more shots that a fully healthy and productive defense is used to clearing out before it even gets to the net.

The Wild are not a strong offensive team....so like I said, if get get a couple goals in, I'd be pretty genuinely concerned about the state of the Boston defense.

I think this game will be tighter than people think....Boston should win, but to say that either team is playing well right now is far from the truth.

No official word yet. My money's on Thomas.

Boston Bruins @NHLBruins
Coach Julien declined to name his starter in goal and said Seguin would definitely play today versus the Wild.^BISH

I have a soft spot for the Wild too. Not really sure why, but they have a lot of likeable players and I don't mind their fans. I'd like to see them in a playoff spot, but oh well.

I hope they fix the NBC feed before the game starts. Mine has lines randomly going through the picture. It's annoying.

The fans are fantastic and most of them really know hockey; hell, most have played hockey from the early mite years. Xcel is an awesome place to see a game. Plus, our fanbases share a hatred of all things Canuck.

As for the team, it's tough to see what they've gone through this year, especially with crappy injuries. They've bought into Yeo's system, but they just can't keep a healthy squad out there. I think Koivu's missed almost 6 or so weeks at this point.

Haha. The one memory I have of Parise's draft year is how much Pierre was freaking out when the guy kept falling and how much he stressed that NJ got the steal of the draft. Ok, Pierre, you were right but tone it down a little.

Wish Pierre was drafting for us that year (or at least that round).

Koivu's on my fantasy team, so you don't have to talk to me about how much time he has missed. I think he missed 3-4 straight weeks at one point, but he misses a game here and there with random stuff. It wouldn't surprise me if it added up to 6 weeks. One of my favorite non-Bruins when he's healthy though.

But if the Bs didn't draft Stuart who would they have sent to Atlanta for Pevs lol? That move helped them win a cup. All part of the master plan.
