What about trading Habs 2nd, 33rd overall (I'm not aware of any compensatory picks) + habs 3rd for a late first (27thish) to grab Wilson, or would it be better to target Frk if still available because his potential is (or from what I've read) fairly high ?

Yes, but Philly would laugh at that offer.

Isn't Hartnell a UFA in 1 year? That alone makes it a bad trade.

Plus, Hartnell is not really the type of player we are missing and his value is about as high as it can go coming off a career year.

Would you make this move

A few hab buddies and I were chatting about the offseason moves to improve

one suggested we trade our top pick , if we dont win the lottery

to Colorado for Matt Duchene

very interesting move , 21 years old and easily our best center we have had in a decade

would you pull the trigger if the deal is on the table ?

No, Duchesne has had a real bad season. Question his hockey sense. Pick may be a homerun....should be no worse than Duchesne even if goes wrong

Duchesne or Taylor Hall would be my targets... Huberdeau, Etem or Coyle would also be interesting.

For some reason, I can't help but shake the feeling the Habs are going to be going after Huberdeau very hard with this pick. Whether or not Tallon bites is a completely different question... I am convinced the Habs are going to try and acquire him.

Neither habs or colorado pulls the trigger.

Colorado still hopes he will bounce back, dont forget how close he and tavares were last 2 years. While from habs perspective it's too risky.

Naw! I'd rather take the chances with the pick. These quick fix solutions never seem to work.

Good kid, Duchene. But do not want. Would much rather take the chance on the pick.

Yes because Habs pick is a sure fire home run. I guess proven NHL talent with loads of potential is worth less than a prospect who didn't play a minute of NHL hockey.

And to those questioning his health in the long run, he had two freak accidents.

There's no way Avs trade him for Habs 1st round pick.

Why would Montreal give up the best two players in the trade (and their most important 2 if they want to win)?
