Wait, we're going to trade the third overall pick, and Plekanec for a guy that got 7 points more than Plekanec this year??

Hmmm...Hi Gauthier, please get off these boards. K? Thanks

Nash is not what we need right now. I really like him and would love him in our team but... what's the point? We have the chance to get a potential star forward, which we haven't had in decades. I don't understand why people want to trade this pick. Is it because they want to criticize, in five years, because we missed on that great kid? The only reason I would trade this pick is for another potential superstar player like, for example, Jonathan Huberdeau.

Nash is good but he can't carry a team by himself. If we are giving away Pleks and our 3rd overall pick, it's for a young player who will carry us...

Good answer - Nash is the most over rated player possibly available this summer. keep Plek. Let the Leafs stay in the basement by going after him.

Ontop of all that...He's not even a Center

I'd trade Palushaj, Weber AND Gomez for Nash

Oh wait...the Columbus GM is not Gainey/Gauthier

For Nash I'd trade Plek and a 5th round pick and a future considerations close ( only valid if team reaches the stanley cup as usual) Rick Nash is not worth a 3rd first round pick but maybe a 20th to 25th first round pick.

Nash is worth a lot more than a late first. He's overrated, but he's still a good player. We'd be happy to have him...but not so much with the package we'd have to offer. That's why we should just stand still and pick the BPA available in June and go from there.

It's not like we have to start from scratch. With Price, Subban and Pacioretty with the other good young players we have, the core is decent. Our prospect pool is getting thiner, but we have many pick in the next two draft so it will get better.

If we draft Murray, I'd move Markov, if he still has any value. Just saying.

While I get the logic. Unless it's a house cleaning, makes no sense. Murray is likely a year away from making an impact an Markov's value is low.

If habs decide to draft a d or a winger, would you explore the idea of Zajac for Plekanec assuming zajac is healthy? Not saying I'd do it, just noticed how Zajac is a little bit of a lesser player, but younger, and bigger at 6'3 200.

Washington fans turned down a similar offer from NYI fans (4th overall pick instead) yesterday.

I pointed out that Hamrlik's and Alzner's stats were very similar and that Subban was our shutdown guy. They wouldn't accept either comment, what can you do?

They seem to know everything but why their team sucks in the playoffs and what to do about it.

---------

I'd rather wait a year or so and see how Tinordi pans out. If Tinordi doesn't then I would look at trading for him but otherwise, no.

We have no need for Alzner really. I'd rather focus on getting a winger for Plekanec for when Gionta's contract is done

We should keep all picks at this point, unless it is to trade up to grab a player that timmins really likes, or as another poster said, to trade for a stud prospect like huberdeau.

I'd be quite happy with: 1st overall for 3rd overall + Tinordi

I think Edmonton might like it.

I'd ask Timmins's opinion before doing it though, to be sure Yakupov is really far ahead of the other prospects in the draft.

Hey guys, Oilers fan here.

1.Would you guys do 1st overall for Subban? Or something of that sort?

2.Is there any scenario that we can get Subban+3rd overall for our first+any of our roster players/prospects/picks Not including Hall, Eberle and RNH? (Probably not, but it doesn't hurt to ask!)

As much as I'm excited about Yakupov I'd decline.

Martin and Cunneyworth finally managed to make him the player we all wanted him to become in the last months.

There's no way we'd trade Subban AND our 3rd overall pick for your 1st + a player nobody wants. No offence.

I think its safe to say that Edmonton may be looking to move their #1 overall pick because what they need is a potential franchise d-man. I think Murray would be a good overall pick at #3, so I could see us wanting to move up. But the question is what would the Oilers want in addition to our 1st pick? It would probably cost more than our 2nd round pick, so what do you think the oilers asking price would be?
