I would like him in SJ. I watched him a bunch on the Flyers and he always looked solid to me.
Knuble just isn't a very good skater anymore and speed seems to be something Dale Hunter likes in his line-up. I don't know if the Caps are looking to move him but I would imagine a mid-round pick or mid-level prospect would be enough to land him.

I've always said this team needs more snarl...and this next question is totally out of left-field. But....what would it take to kick the tires on Evgeny Artyukhin. I'm not even sure where he's playing, but he's one of the most physically imposing players I've EVER seen play hockey. He might be in the KHL, but I'm not sure. Why not put him on the 4th line next year? LOL

He's in the KHL making more than he'd ever make here. He was a name a bunch of us threw out there last summer.

Asked dchesnokov on the twitter about Artyukhin, he said he wanted to come back last year but got no offers.

Hammer and Wideman need to be shopped asap. The potential pieces from a Wideman trade could give us a top three pick next year if they want to go that way. I would say a good 2C, but that price might be painful. Hard to pull that trigger considering things could swing the Caps way in the next day or two.

Ahhh. Thanks for the info.

I would love to have him here in DC. Dude is 6'4" 260 and was one of the fastest guys in the league when he was here. The thing I like about him is that he's not afraid to mix it up. He's flat out intimidating and we could use some toughness on this roster. I think he'd be more valuable than our current 4th liner who is making 3 mil a year. LOLOL.

*I wonder if he's making less than Ward?

The problem with R2 is that he's just so dumb. Takes too many penalties that aren't worth it. Probably why he doesn't have a job in the NHL right now (at least at whatever price point he's looking for).

I like the combination of speed and physicality, but this team needs to get smarter, not dumber.

It also needs to get faster and more physical. You're hard pressed to find all 3 in a 4th liner. And if you're going to have dumb players anywhere, have them on the 4th line.

I don't disagree, but this seems like an extreme. Then again, fewer and fewer penalties are being called every year, so he becomes less and less of a liability. Then it just becomes a question of price, I suppose.

Artyukhin on the forecheck would be something to see.

His post deadline stint in Atlanta was very good from what I remember. A lot of them wanted him back.

A cheap gamebreaker on the 4th line could be a pretty good trump card. At worst we can just shelter the hell out of him.

Nash to Rangers is a done deal. Good lord that's awful for us. Glad to see GMGM has done so much to help this team. Sigh.

Plus he would keep cheap shot players on other teams honest.

Not me. Not that I care, but what if the Rangers flop in the playoffs? They seem to have good chemistry with what they have to make a move like that.

love me some R2

The whole Finnish team paid for that hit by 16 on 48. Thats what we need here, but it will never happen he is making too much money there.

Hey don't hate on Dashtary his sources are unbelievably accurate.

People are mad we aren't getting Nash?

He and Carter are both useless to this team

Nice solid win last night. Unfortunately, it settled absolutely nothing.

They do that again tonight, and the Caps will probably end up being buyers.
