To cgy: Roy, buffalo draft pick maybe a 2nd or 3rd

To Buf: backlund, 1st, ferland/arnold, babchuk, nemiz

not sure if the values there, maybe calgary has to add some better pieces.
it does suck that calgary has to give up there first but i dont think buffalo would even listen if a first wasnt invloved. calgary could get a first back at the draft by trading someone like giordano as brodie could really step up next year, and they could try and go after suter.

You won't get a top six center for much less.

With Cammalleri's recent play as the second line center we dont really need one as much.

Also, I wouldnt give up that package for Roy. Way too much from a Flames point of view, imo.

Maybe so, but doesn't fit Calgary's needs right now. Jokinen is having a better season than Roy so far. With Cammy now killing it at centre, the Flames aren't moving that many propects. The Flames are much better off waiting for Moss, Glencross, and Backlund to come back than parting with this many assets.

I understand that I don't think we need one. I think that is slightly overvaluing Roy and don't think we will overpay of a guy that doesn't fit in our top 6.

And no.

Cammy has shown so far that he's a better player as our 2nd line C, and has been producing well, along with Jokinen which basically settles our top 2 Cs.

Loved Regehr, but to give up Butler, Byron AND 1st for him and a 2nd is just silly from our point.

If you don't need Roy then that's one thing, but that's market value for Roy.

Kaberle got a first + Colbourne as a rental. Roy is better than Kaberle and signed for another year at a discount.

Yeah, no. Calgary gives up too much youth and potential.

I'd rather not give up that much of the future for Roy, he's first line center, but Calgary is getting yeoman work from Joker, Cammy has looked really good up the middle and Backlund is still not in write off territory yet.

I doubt that Flames have any interest in moving that first round pick unless it makes real sense.

Right now Roy doesn't

I don't think it is market value but I understand putting a high price on someone you don't have to move. What about Boyes what is his value?

At the beginning of the year most Buffalo fans would want a 2nd but now, just take him.

Backlund is injured, so it couldn't happen at the deadline.

Cammy has shown to be that center, its not that we don't need him we don't need him enough to give up what his value is.

Backlund's injury would have no bearing on a deal happening. Injured players can be traded as long as the injury is disclosed and the league approves the transaction. Having said that, I wouldn't make that trade. Way too much youth leaving the Flames, especially when you consider Arnold and Ferland are both really stepping up. Pass big time.

No way.
flames need to not trade away backlund and first round picks.

imo backlund, baertschi, brodie are untouchable.

we need a future guys.

plus cammaleri is doing a great job as mpst have said who have actually paid any attention to the flames

Exactly. If anything the Flames need wingers to play with Cammy. Glencross is coming back. Hopefully Baertschi can make the jump to 2nd line winger next year.

Cammy has been very good beat Kopitar and Richards last night we will run with it rather than trading a ton of futures for roy.
