Our defense has never been so wonderful that it could win games for us. The whole team is tired. When you add injuries and the negating of physical play, you get what you have now. It's been this way for years with this team.

If they get healthy, start hitting and the goaltending gets more consistent, they'll be fine.

don't think you guys are gonna blow the lead, and if we don't have the choice, but to play the Bruins, then I say, giddy-up! Impossible not to respect the Bruins, especially due to the cup and number of ex-Sens on your team.

We had a lot of love for Chara, especially when he came back for the ASG. Gonna be amazing to see that atmosphere switch in a matter a few short months...

Playing with house money is fun - see ya' in the playoffs.

It's incredible how many of you refuse to face reality. I'd say it's 50/50 at best the B's hold off the Sens and win the division.

We can trot out the whole if the B's ONLY go .500 then that means the Sens have to go 8-4 to catch us.

I don't know how anyone can act if it's unlikely the Bruins play sub .500 hockey for the rest of the season.

Reality is a record in the neighbourhood of 5-8-1 is likely, meaning the Sens need to go 7-5 to pass us.

I'm not sure how we are on the injury front after the massacre in Pittsburgh, if Bergeron is out for even a few couple games, I'd say the Sens become the favorite.

Honest answer? Since it seems really unlikely that we could fall to 8th or miss the playoffs. I couldn't care less if we win the division as long as we get healthy.

If we finish 2nd, we're likely to play Ottawa. If we finish 7th we're likely to play Ottawa, and chances are in the next two rounds if we advance, we're playing NYR or PIT in some order.

The important thing is getting Thomas some rest and getting healthy. Division titles don't mean a thing, and if there's one thing this group has proven, it's that they can win game 7's on the road just as easily as they can lose them at home.

It's gonna be the Bruins-Sens in the first round...only question is who will get home ice...and personally, you guys can have it!

They already lost the last game to Ottawa.

Averaging 3.00 GA and 3.15 GF through the last 38 games. Goal differential of +5 for nearly half a season.

Looks like they will most likely be playing in the Playoffs, if its either 7th or 2nd, who knows.

The B's have been due for a series with the Sens.

^^^It'd be nice to get some animosity towards the Senators. It seems the two teams and fanbases get along too well considering how much the two teams face each other.

Just can't bring myself to hate the Sens, except maybe Neil, who I have to admit I would love in a Bruins jersey. The fans are pretty chill too, unlike most of our divisional rivals.

I dunno, it has to happen naturally. You can't force a rivalry. They don't have enough *******s on their team to really get a legit hate-on IMO.

Probably because the Bruins poach the Sens players...and that you guys take our "nice guys"....Chiarelli, Chara, Kelly...

We are building "the White House" for a certain goaltender of yours...

I think there is nothing like a 7 game series to spur a good rivalry although with the Sens I don't really hate them. It is kind of like the Flyers for me-hate them when we play them, but generally like them when they play other teams.

I actually think a Sens/Bruins series could be fairly entertaining.

I think it is doubtful the Bruins get past the 2nd round this year though-Pens and Rangers are both teams playing really well and the Bruins just can't seem to beat Hank at all although in the last Bruins/Rangers game the B's were starting to find some opportunity they just gave up the game.

Agreed, if this team were playin the Sens tomorrow, I`d put money on the Sens as much as it pains me to say that, if this team meets come playoff time, and our boys get a bit of health, the Sens youth will show.

They have had a great season and I`ll be honest, nice to see, they have some vets with loads of playoff experience but come playoff time, all that youth and inexperience will catch up and the B`s would beat em.

I have absolutely NO issue with our Bruins starting things on the road in the playoffs, I`m a big believer and there is more than a bit of evidence that this team has much better focus on the road and play simple and it often leads to stronger games.

Anyone ever seen a game in Ottawa??? Not exactly a barn with rabid fans, playoffs or not, and I say that as an Ottawa born, former season tix holder

Truth be told, we don't hate you guys, but look up to you guys for the way you continue to pound and pilage the leafs.

The Bruins is where the Sens want to be - class in the east, bar none.

That said...we're gonna be all over Timmy!

As for Ottawa being "quiet"...not this year. Expectations were at an all time low and we weren't expecting to be where we are now. There's a frenzy about this team this year that is completely different. This is an insanely hard working team, the majority of which are no-names to the rest of the league (with the exception of Spezza-Karlsson-Alfie-Phillips-Neil). This is a team that has played it's heart out...absolutely no question.

At this point, we gotta try everything....we are playing the mighty-B's after all...

But, we hope you *don't* blow the division lead...we want to start in B-town!

That might be something of an overstatement right now.

Maybe the thread title should be changed to: Is there a chance we miss the playoffs?

the above posters have my feelings nailed down.

The team has all the pieces in place to compete. they're young, talented and seem to like each other.

Injuries have plagues us, but this is just blehhhhhhh.

before tonight I said we'd go 5-8 to end the season. 93 points.

We've got one of the 8 loses now.

There's a legit chance we miss the playoffs. Absolutely.
