The cap can come but doesn't have to include everything

How about having a cap but leave all TV rights/revenue to the NHLPA since the NHL hasn't been able to do a good job here.
Merchandising?

Peel off some stuff that have potential for growth from the deal?

Since that's about 4 million per team I don't think that'll work. That's an average of about $173,000 per player on a 23 man roster.
