I think you are a very smart poster Leafaholix, but your homerism is brutal. A prospect from the Leafs is always a good one, while some of the best prospects of the league are overrated, not talented, etc.
As I said, personally I'm not betting on Kyle Wellwood as a future top 6 forward in the league, but I'm not writing him off just yet. He's only 21 years old and still has time to develop and possibly become a NHL player.
To say that writing him off is wrong isn't homerism. The guy obviously has talent and may eventually manage to overcome his shortcomings and play at a higher level than the AHL. Anything more than a 3rd line regular is bonus, IMO.
